Continental Divide Ski Safari

Panorama and Banff | Canada

Designed for mixed-ability groups, the Continental Divide Ski Safari covers four ski areas in two destinations.
Continental Divide Ski Safari Map

This Canadian adventure starts in Panorama in British Columbia. This Ski Safari favourite is perfect for all skiing abilities, from beginners hitting the slopes for the first time to experienced skiers who want to warm up their ski legs. The ski school is highly rated and it's worth booking lessons even if you're not a complete novice. You'll be sure to come away from 'Pano' with your skiing confidence at an all-time high.

Continental Divide Ski Safari

After six days in Panorama, you’ll start an impressive two-hour drive crossing the Continental Divide back into Alberta, to the vibrant town of Banff. Surrounded by beautiful Banff National Park, the rugged views that accompany your stay will never cease to amaze. The three ski areas - Mount Norquay, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise - appeal to all abilities and are the perfect place to continue where you left off from your lessons in Panorama.

Off the slopes, you can sample the hospitable Canadian après scene and get involved with activities such as ice climbing or soothing yourself in hot springs. Car hire is not required on this safari, as shared or private shuttles are available between all the ski areas, so this itinerary is ideal for a first ski safari adventure.

The Ikon Pass includes:

  • Seven days access to Panorama
  • Seven days total access to the 'SkiBig3' resorts of Mount Norquay, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise

Utah Powder Hunter Ski Safari

Snowbasin, Solitude, Brighton, Snowbird, Alta and Deer Valley | USA

Tick off several of the USA's best powder resorts in a single trip and find out why Utah is famous for "The Greatest Snow on Earth®".
Utah Powder Hunter Ski Safari

Using Ogden as your initial ski base, the first four days are spent tearing across Snowbasin's 3,000 acres of powder-filled terrain. In this vast winter playground, you'll find empty powder bowls, stunning treelines and heart-racing chutes.

Just over an hour down the road is your second ski base, Cottonwood, where you're spoilt for choice when it comes to nearby skiing destinations. Finally, you'll spend the remainder of your holiday based at Park City, to indulge in perfectly groomed slopes at the exclusive Deer Valley. As the Ikon Pass covers Solitude, Brighton, Snowbird, Alta and Deer Valley, it's completely up to you how you divide your time skiing.

Utah Powder Hunter Ski Safari

All of these destinations will bring a big smile to any powder-lover's face. However, our team recommends that more advanced and confident skiers make time for Snowbird and Alta's interconnecting double-blacks and fantastic off-piste terrain. Snowboarders may want to focus on Solitude and Brighton as Alta is ski-only - as is the luxurious resort of Deer Valley, home to the best grooming in the world.

The Ikon Pass includes:

  • Unlimited access to Solitude
  • Seven days access at each Snowbasin, Brighton and Deer Valley
  • Seven days combined access to Snowbird and Alta

Highway 1 Ski Safari

Sun Peaks, Revelstoke and Banff | Canada

A classic road trip along the iconic Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1), that stops at five ski areas en route from Kamloops in British Columbia to Calgary in Alberta.
Highway 1 Ski Safari Map

Your first stop is Sun Peaks, which has an amazing selection of ski-in ski-out accommodation, giving you more time during the first five days to get comfortable on the slopes. It won't be long before you've found your ski legs on Sundance’s long cruisers, and when you're up for a challenge, the steeps on Todd Mountain are waiting for you!

Highway 1 Ski Safari

Once you're warmed up, it's time to crank it up a notch by taking on the longest vertical descent in North America at Revelstoke. We recommend hiring a guide to help you get the most out of the resort's expansive backcountry. If there's a resort to try out heli-skiing or cat-skiing, this is it with half a million acres of terrain to drop into. The inbounds terrain is just as good - the area used to be an exclusive heli-ski playground, now with lift access.

The final stop along Highway 1 is the buzzing town of Banff. Home to over 100 bars and restaurants and three nearby ski areas, including Canada's third-largest, Lake Louise. Its diverse terrain is well worth a visit for serious skiers and snowboarders.

The Ikon Base Pass includes:

  • Five days access at each Sun Peaks and Revelstoke
  • Five days total access to Mount Norquay, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise
(Limited blackout dates apply during 26/12-31/12, 18/01-19/01, 15/02-16/02)

49th Parallel North Ski Safari

Schweitzer and RED | USA and Canada

Two of the best destinations in North America for deep, steep, powder-filled skiing and snowboarding can be found just across the border from each other in the USA and Canada.
49th Parallel North Ski Safari Map

Your journey begins in Schweitzer Mountain Resort, USA. Here you'll spend five tremendous days dropping into bowls, chutes and glades along the 6000 ft ridge line, which also provides spectacular views of Lake Pend Oreille, three states and even Canada. The beauty of your surroundings only adds to the world-class tree and alpine skiing. The resort is easy to navigate with a good selection of American-style bars and restaurants.

49th Parallel North Ski Safari

You'll then drive across the Canadian border (which sits on the 49th parallel north line of latitude) to RED Mountain Resort. This next hidden treasure offers some of the best off-piste skiing in the world. Cat skiing in RED is a must for experienced skiers and we recommend meeting up with the free Mountain Snow Hosts early in your stay to make the most of RED's expansive backcountry.

These resorts may not be household names in the UK, but you'll return from this trip as the envy of any die-hard skier or snowboarder.

The Ikon Base Pass includes:

  • Five days access at each Schweitzer and RED Mountain
(Limited blackout dates apply during: 26/12-31/12, 18/01-19/01, 15/02-16/02)

Big Mountain Ski Safari

Big Sky and Jackson Hole | USA

Home to HUGE vertical drops and gigantic terrain, Big Sky and Jackson Hole are a must for expert skiers looking for the ultimate big mountain experience. Yellowstone National Park lies between these two destinations, and you’ll pass through it on a jaw-dropping drive with frequent photo opportunities.
Big Mountain Ski Safari Map

Big Sky is a resort that continues to go under the radar outside of the USA, despite having one of the biggest ski areas and some of the most challenging terrain in the world. With no major cities nearby, plus a ski area spanning a whopping 5,850 acres, you'll have four days feeling like you're the only skier on the mountain. The mountain itself has fantastic terrain and experts will devour the sheer Lone Peak. If you need convincing on the difficulty of the terrain, the majority of the runs off the peak are designated as triple black diamond.

Big Mountain

Make sure your phone or camera is fully charged to grab some snaps of the jaw-dropping scenery on the drive to Jackson Hole through Yellowstone National Park (day trips are possible if you don't get enough on the drive). It's a nice way to take a well-earned rest day before you arrive at some of the steepest couloirs and most challenging groomers in America. Jackson Hole is an iconic resort that any serious skier or snowboarder should visit at least once in their life, and it's also a chance to sample a slice of authentic America. Head to the town of Jackson and pull up a stool at the Million Dollar Cowboy to relive your day on the slopes with the locals.

The Ikon Pass includes:

  • Seven days access each at Big Sky and Jackson Hole

Colorado Ski Safari

Winter Park, Steamboat and Aspen Snowmass | USA

This adventure takes you on an all-American road trip to experience the Champagne Powder® of Steamboat, the seven territories of Winter Park, and the glamorous Aspen Snowmass with its four ski areas.
Colorado Ski Safari Map

Your Colorado adventure starts with picking up your SUV from Denver Airport and spending five unforgettable days diving into Winter Park's lively runs across its seven territories. Be prepared to reach into your bag of skiing tricks as each area will require different techniques and skills.

Colorado Ski Safari

It's then a pleasant two-hour drive through northern Colorado ranch country to your next resort, Steamboat, home of the renowned Champagne Powder® and now the second-largest ski mountain in Colorado. This world-class all-rounder blends exceptional glade skiing in light, dry powder with an atmospheric Wild West town, and has introduced a further 650 acres of new expert-level terrain and a second gondola, thanks to a recent $225M+ investment.

If it was your childhood or adult dream (we're not here to judge) to become a skiing cowboy or cowgirl, here's your chance!

Your final destination (unless you choose to add even more skiing in Copper Mountain or Arapahoe Basin!) is Aspen Snowmass. Home to four excellent ski areas and a vibrant town, it's the ideal resort to let your hair down and make the most of the friendly American hospitality. It's a well-known destination for the rich and famous, so you never know who you'll be sharing a lift with!

The Ikon Pass includes

  • Unlimited access to Winter Park, Steamboat and Copper Mountain

  • Seven days access to Aspen Snowmass and Arapahoe Basin

  • 15% off selected on-mountain restaurants and retail stores in Steamboat and Winter Park

California Ski Safari

Palisades Tahoe and Mammoth | USA

California may be best known for sunny skies and sandy beaches, but head to the mountains of Lake Tahoe and Sierra Nevada where you'll find snowfall records and unique scenery, still with plenty of sunshine and laidback vibes.
California Ski Safari Map

Starting in San Francisco and ending in Los Angeles, you’ll get the chance to book-end 11 days of skiing with visits to two of the USA's most vibrant cities. This is a holiday worthy of being placed on any bucket list.

Your first powder fix is in Palisades Tahoe. Die-hard skiers love this destination because of its steep chutes, powder-covered bowls and tree skiing but it's also home to easy cruisers which are ideal to warm up on at the beginning of the day or glide down at the end. The two unique ski areas of Alpine and Palisades were recently connected by state-of-the-art base-to-base gondola, so it's never been easier to get around. The main base area (The Village at Palisades Tahoe) and its accommodation personifies affordable luxury with spas in all of our offered accommodations.

California Ski Safari

The gorgeous three-hour drive to Mammoth is a highlight of the journey around California. The views are just stunning, and from the resort you can see across the desert from the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This legendary resort has masses of terrain and snowparks for you to explore whilst simultaneously soaking in the guaranteed Californian sunshine - somehow it manages both 300 days of sunshine a year and 400 inches of snowfall each winter!

For even more skiing, take a day trip to June Mountain (30 minutes from Mammoth), which is also featured on the Ikon Pass.

The Ikon Pass includes:

  • Unlimited access to Palisades Tahoe, Mammoth Mountain and June Mountain

  • 15% off at select on-mountain restaurants and retail stores in Palisades Tahoe and Mammoth

Steep & Deep Ski Safari

Mammoth and Alyeska | USA

Experience a heart-racing adventure into Alyeska's wilderness and Mammoth's vast terrain and discover a wealth of life-changing snow and the longest double black diamond run in North America. The Steep and Deep ski safari will test, challenge and humble even the most confident skiers.
Steep and Deep Ski Safari Map

After touching down in Los Angeles and picking up your SUV from the airport, you'll spend your first night in the city to rest before driving to Mammoth. The five-hour road trip is a pleasure as you'll encounter interesting and iconic Eastern Sierra landmarks such as the Red Rock Canyon State Park.

The next week is spent playing in over 3,500 acres of expansive terrain. Over half of the runs are geared towards intermediates, which are brilliant for finding your feet again. Once you're in the groove, it's time to take things up a notch on Mammoth's legendary chutes, mogul runs, bowls and glades.

30 minutes north of Mammoth is June Mountain. As skiing here is included on the Ikon Pass, we suggest heading to June on Saturday or Sunday to take advantage of the relaxed vibes, less demanding skiing, and gorgeous views of the Gull Lakes.

Steep and Deep Ski Safari

After an unforgettable week at Mammoth, it's back to LA to catch a direct flight to Anchorage. From the airport, it's only an hour's transfer before you find yourself in the depths of Alyeska's wilderness where the lofty mountains are regularly plastered with snow and provide some of the gnarliest skiing on earth. Plus, there's a good chance you'll be treated to a Northern Lights show to put the cherry on top of this once-in-a-lifetime trip.

If a natural light show and world-class piste skiing aren't enough, we recommend the ultimate heli or cat skiing experience with the Chugach Powder Guides. Laying down fresh tracks on untouched terrain having just exited a helicopter will make you feel like a character from a Bond film!

The Ikon Pass includes:

  • Unlimited access to Mammoth, including the option to ski June Mountain
  • Seven days access to Alyeska

Why should I buy now?

Ikon Pass prices increase throughout the year. Even if you haven’t settled on your exact destinations for 2024/25, we recommend buying your Ikon Pass as early as possible (passes go on sale each year from mid-March).

Last year, customers who booked their pass before the end of April saved over £100 vs those who left it last minute. 23/24 Ikon Pass holders can save an extra £80 by renewing now through Ski Safari.

How much could I save with an Ikon Pass?

Whilst each holiday is different, you can save as much as £1000 per adult by purchasing an Ikon Pass and combining it with a ski safari.

For example, to ski Jackson Hole and Big Sky, passes bought separately would cost approximately £1980 in total, but on an Ikon Pass Ski Safari (Big Mountain Ski Safari) the Ikon Pass starts from £920*. Plus, once you have your Ikon Pass, you can use it again at 50+ destinations worldwide.

Plus for a limited time, you could save up to an additional £77 on each Child pass (up to two per child) when purchased with any Adult pass (applies to Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass).

*Price based on the March 2024/25 Ikon Pass launch price.

Can I buy the Ikon Pass separately?

Yes, you can buy a standalone pass from Ski Safari. You can also buy the pass now to get a lower price, then book the resorts later if you haven’t decided on your holiday destination yet. Contact our knowledgeable team, to buy your Ikon Pass or if you need any guidance on where to go.

How long is the Ikon Pass valid for?

The Ikon Pass and the Ikon Base Pass can be used on as many trips as you choose during that season. Many skiers love having the option of worldwide access to resorts that use the Ikon Pass and enjoy safaris at multiple resorts in the USA and Canada, as well as shorter trips to sought-after resorts in the Alps.

What is a ski safari?

The ski safaris featured on this page are specifically designed to help you get the most out of your Ikon Pass.
