USA Ski Holidays
Home to champagne powder, Californian sunshine and wild west towns, the USA has more ski resorts than anywhere else in the world.
Spanning the country from east to west, America’s sheer volume of ski areas is mind-blowing. But what really amazes us is just how unique each one is. While Colorado is famous for its champagne powder, neighbouring Utah sees up to 12 metres of snow each season, and California’s resorts are blessed with 300 days of sunshine a year.
All this snow and sun creates supreme conditions both on and off the groomed slopes. And, while some western states like Wyoming have scarily steep couloirs, the gentle terrain on the east coast is ideal for families and first timers. Wild west ski towns like Jackson Hole and Steamboat are another highlight, and its easy to include stopovers in cities like New York, San Francisco or Las Vegas.
With so much variety, it can be hard to choose where to ski. Luckily, America’s resorts are often found in clusters so you can experience several on one trip with a ski safari. We only feature the very best US resorts and, having skied in them all, we can advise on the ideal ones for you, and tell you exactly what to expect.
