Does poor service annoy you?

You know when you’ve been waiting for ages on the phone to speak to a 'customer service adviser' and when you finally get through what you receive couldn't possibly be described as customer service? Does that grate? Do you think, the world really shouldn’t be like that?

Well so do we, you're in the right place!

We are absolutely passionate about providing first-class customer service and if you are too, we’d love to hear from you. If you also happen to like skiing or snowboarding, or spending time in the fresh air outdoors, then we’d definitely like to hear from you!

Ski Safari Happy Customers
Good service = happy skiers & snowboarders

Who are Ski Safari?

We are an award-winning, independent ski holiday company and we’ve become that by being totally focused on helping our customers have the absolute best ski or snowboarding holiday possible... for the past 30 years.

What do we do?

We put together superb ski holidays to some of the most interesting and perhaps slightly more unusual (for UK skiers anyway) places to ski around the world - Canada and the US, Norway and Sweden, and Japan.

And we like to add a little something extra too, so that our holidays are more than ‘just’ a ski holiday. You can see some examples by looking at our amazing ski safaris.

Where do we do this?

From our light and airy, modern warehouse offices just a stone’s throw from the beach in central Hove on the Sussex coast - if you step out of the front door and look right, you can see the sea!

It’s the ideal location for cycling to work, a swim at lunchtime or enjoying some fresh air with a walk along the seafront. There are also some fantastic pubs, cafes and restaurants just up the road, so it’s a great place for a good work-life balance.

But what about you?

We are looking for people who want to provide our customers with real customer service.

It’s easy to do this if you like talking to people, are confident on the phone and have a positive, upbeat attitude.

You might have some knowledge or experience of the ski industry, but that isn’t essential. Experience working in a customer service environment is. Even if that has been a holiday job or a temporary position, it all counts! Some core computer skills and being well-organised with a good eye for detail are also important.

But really it’s about you being the right kind of person, someone who can get stuck in and quickly become a valued member of the team and make a contribution.

That mention of the team is key - we're a small, friendly gang at Ski Safari, and we definitely work as a team.

Ski Safari Celebrations
Any excuse for a celebration, whether that's in the office, in the Kent countryside... or in the mountains (and yes, fancy dress is often encouraged!)

If so, Ski Safari want to hear from you!

As our in-house videographer/content creator, your role will focus on creating video content that fits our brand, mission and goals. As the visual storyteller for our company, you’ll be responsible for the entire video production process, from ideation and storyboarding to shooting, editing, publishing and promoting. It will be a huge bonus if you are also able to help with photography.

Working closely with the Marketing Manager and wider team, you’ll own our video strategy, dramatically increasing our video output and instilling a culture of video across the business. As this is a new role, we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running. It’s a great opportunity to become a core member of the Ski Safari team.

While focused initially on Ski Safari, you will also work on our cycling holiday brand, Freedom Treks.

This is a permanent, full-time, office-based role (in Hove, UK), but we would consider contract, part-time and remote work for the right person.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Owning and executing Ski Safari’s video content strategy
  • Consistently producing 2-3 videos per week to use across Ski Safari’s website, social channels (including YouTube) and in sales communications
  • Interviewing staff and customers, and coaching them to feel comfortable and confident on camera
  • Collating b-roll footage from suppliers and requesting it where missing
  • Post-production editing and publication
  • Working closely with the sales, operations and marketing teams to determine and prioritise video topics
  • Determining what audiovisual equipment is required, budgeting and purchasing
  • Setting up and operating production equipment, including cameras, microphones, lighting equipment and props on location and in our office
  • Coaching the wider marketing team on video production and marketing and the latest trends and technologies
  • Reporting on the effectiveness of video content

Technical skills:

  • Proficient with a range of AV technology, including: mobile phones, DSLRs, action cameras, 360 cameras, camcorders, lavalier mics, shotgun mics and condenser mics
  • Proficient with video editing software - ideally Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
  • Experience with the full Adobe suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, is a plus
  • Proficient at storyboarding, scripting and turning ideas into content
  • Understand video and photo composition techniques
  • Up to speed with video and content marketing best practice, understanding how video fits into the wider marketing strategy

Personal skills:

  • Highly attentive to detail, quick thinking and adaptable
  • Energetic and able to excite people to be on camera
  • Lifelong learner always looking to grow and improve
  • Technically minded, able to troubleshoot problems with hardware and software
  • Results-driven, able to work independently to meet business goals
  • Collaborative, able to work as a team to create the best content
  • At least an intermediate skier or snowboarder - you can capture content on the slopes and you understand what customers want from their holidays

Bonus points if:

  • You are familiar with 'They Ask, You Answer' and 'Endless Customers', specifically 'The Selling 7' videos
  • You have personal experience of our destinations and resorts
  • You have experience filming and editing ski or snowboard content
  • You’re an expert-level skier or snowboarder, confident filming in any conditions
  • You love cycling and travel generally
  • You have your own travel-focused social media channels
  • You’re also a brilliant photographer with an eye for framing the perfect shot
  • You have contagious enthusiasm that encourages those around you

The fine print

This is a full-time, office-based, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 9am - 5:30pm, plus occasional weekend shifts for events and during peak departure periods with time off given in lieu.
