This blog explores the standout resorts and unique experiences that will keep you coming back for more year after year - trust us, we've skied and tried every single one of them (multiple times).

Rarely queue for a lift - even during peak weeks

Tranquil skiing on immaculately groomed pistes all day, every day. That's life skiing in Norway!

The slopes are always quiet - so much so that we often find them completely empty - no matter what week you ski. Coupled with the fact that Norway has minimal bottlenecks and cat tracks, lift queues are almost non-existent (unlike other destinations in Europe!). This means you'll enjoy more time actually skiing and maximising your time on the mountain.

And despite what some people think, ski days in Norway aren't actually short and dark. In the vast majority of resorts, even in the short December days, daylight lasts until at least 3:30pm - similar to the Alps - and from mid-February onwards, the days are longer than resorts in the Alps.

Plus, night skiing is an excellent way to extend your skiing hours. In several resorts, the lifts keep spinning under the floodlights until 8pm on select evenings. Not only is this a memorable experience, but it also gives you more flexibility to holiday your way. Fancy a lie-in and a full day's skiing? Norway's the place for you.

Better still, Norway boasts a long, snow-sure ski season. This means you can take advantage of the quiet slopes anytime from December to late April. Thanks to its northerly latitude, temperatures are cooler - and with world-class snowmaking to back it up, the snow stays around consistently all season long. The entire Ski Safari team were carving fresh lines in powder back in late April earlier this year!

What our customers say about the slopes

"The only time I’ve ever skied for a week and never had to wait at all to get on a chair." - Sean Dwyer, Myrkdalen

"The queues were amazing - as there weren't any!! A very different experience to other resorts we have been to. We also managed to do night skiing and it was an amazing experience, I'd highly recommend." - Clare Williams, Norefjell

"Lovely quiet slopes, hardly any queues for lifts." - Emily Davies, Geilo

"My son loved the night skiing and we had to drag him off the slopes for dinner!" - Amanda Done, Gausta

Anywhere goes... ski risk-free powder between the slopes

Whether you're looking to take your first powder turns or you're on the hunt for elite-level backcountry terrain, Norway delivers. Choose almost any resort and you'll discover easy-access, risk-free off-piste everywhere you look.

The way the resorts are laid out means that gentle off-piste connects the groomers and creates a true ski-anywhere adventure. It's safe, it's patrolled, and it's perfect for an intermediate skier to sample powder skiing, being just a turn away from the pisted runs.

Two of our team skied off-piste for the first time in Beito Resort last December - read Marketing Executive Rollo's trip report for his personal experience, and an insight into what skiing is like in Norway from the perspective of a lifelong Alps skier.

Here's Ski Safari Founder, Richard Rice, making some fresh turns in Voss back in February 2025:

If you're an experienced skier and looking for some more advanced terrain, Narvik is the resort for you. A true backcountry playground in the Arctic Circle with some of the most jaw-dropping views you'll find, full stop. Epic powder is easily accessible right from the gondola, but for the hardcore powder hunters, a two-hour hike rewards you with knee-deep perfection - untouched lines, total bliss and the kind of descent that stays with you long after your skis come off.

What our customers say about the off-piste

"Amazing off-piste playground with a wide variety of terrain in a scenic setting... there’s so much hidden away here, it's just magic." - Huw Griffith, Voss

"Lots of open 'off-piste' areas which are great fun." - Simon Pattison, Myrkdalen

"Even at Easter we skied and boarded over some untouched powder, with very few people on the slopes, looking at some very beautiful panoramas - perfect." Paul Ross, Norefjell

The best resorts for easy-access, easy-to-ski off-piste: Myrkdalen, Voss, Norefjell. For more information, call 01273 224060 to speak to our team or request a quotation online and we’ll be in touch.

Take one of the world’s most scenic railways through a frozen landscape

The Flåm Railway is often heralded as one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world. Picture yourself winding alongside dramatic gorges, frozen waterfalls and snow-blanketed countryside, with the track clinging to the mountainside - this is an unforgettable journey. Plus, it's easily accessible from Myrkdalen, Voss and Geilo.

Thanks to train travel, it's simple to make a ski holiday in Norway more than just a week in one resort. The Bergen Railway is another journey that offers a timeless and scenic adventure. Starting from the fascinating coastal city of Bergen, it stops off at two of Norway's best ski resorts.

On our Bergen Railway Ski Safari (from £950pp), the train transfer is truly part of the experience. You'll glide past pristine fjords, frozen lakes and majestic mountains, stopping on the doorstep of outstanding ski-in ski-out accommodation in both Geilo and Voss. All while doing your bit for the environment!

Those aren't the only two train rides worthy of a mention - you can even catch the Arctic Train that links Norway and Sweden! The Ofotbanen Line starts in Narvik, and is yet another spectacular journey. It is also a journey rooted in history (and conveniently connects directly with two Swedish ski resorts). The line was built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, playing a crucial role during World War II as a vital supply route for the transportation of iron ore.

And train travel isn't the only way to ski multiple resorts in a week effortlessly - with a private transfer or hiring a car, the possibilities are endless. Many resorts are within a two-hour drive of each other and some are even covered by the same lift pass, allowing you to double the size of your ski area for no extra cost. Myrkdalen and Voss are two such resorts, only a short 30-minute drive from each other and served by a daily ski bus.

What our customers say about train transfers

"The highlight was the breathtaking views we saw on the rail transfers...An amazingly different holiday that I would recommend wholeheartedly." - David Allen, Bergen Railway Ski Safari

"The whole train travel experience on the Bergen Railway and down to Flåm was amazing...In fact "amazing" seems to sum up the holiday as a whole!" - Bev Warwick, Bergen Railway Ski Safari

"The train between Bergen and Geilo was a highlight and very easy." - Emma Stroud, Geilo

See our recommended itineraries for combining multiple resorts on our Norway ski safaris page. For more information, call 01273 224060 to speak to our team or request a quotation online and we’ll be in touch.

Sit back and relax as huskies pull you through a magical winter wonderland

The fun doesn't stop on the slopes in Norway - there are a whole host of unique non-ski winter activities that hugely enhance your holiday. Dog sledding is one of the most popular: meet a team of friendly Arctic huskies, who'll then carry you across stunning snowy wilderness. In some resorts, such as Beito Resort, you can even become a musher for the day and learn how to take care of your pack, an authentic Norwegian experience.

If you fancy exploring the wilderness, self-propelled, you should try the Norwegian's favourite winter pastime - cross-country skiing. It’s a fantastic way to explore the fascinating surroundings, with many resorts offering vast areas and well-marked routes.

Snowshoeing is also a brilliant way to explore, padding softly through deep snow, with the option to upgrade and enjoy a cosy Norwegian campsite dinner around a fire.

And it doesn't stop there - the options across our excellent resorts are almost endless. Here are a few of our favourite winter activities in Norway (some are available in more than one resort):

  • Horse Sleigh Ride in Geilo - Take a cosy, picturesque sleigh ride into Geilo town or explore the outskirts and the forest.
  • Ice Karting near Geilo - This is indeed as it sounds - go-karting on a frozen lake! Powerturn buggies are also available at the same location.
  • Polar Park near Narvik - Get up close and personal with a wolf pack - they might greet you with a kiss! - or join a guided tour to see brown bears, lynx and wolverine.
  • Guided Ice Fishing in Beito Resort - Go full Scandinavian and catch your dinner beneath the ice.
  • Snowkiting and Kiteboarding in Beito Resort- An exhilarating way to explore the winter terrain, where you let the wind do the work as you ski or board.

And of course, snow rafting in Beito Resort - something we love in the office here at Ski Safari, I'm sure you can see why below!

If those options don't provide your winter fix, fear not: Norway has even more to offer off the slopes. The après-ski (or afterski as the Norwegians call it) is a pleasant surprise to most - a classier vibe than the Alps, partying with some of the friendliest locals who genuinely love having Brits visit. Some resorts party harder than others, so whether you're after peaceful evenings or a few well-earned beers, there's a resort for you in Norway.

Plus, swimming, shuffleboard and bowling are common in most resorts - all excellent ways to recharge and relax after a day on the slopes. Luxurious spas aren't rare either, but I'll dig deeper into those later! You'll also find indoor skydiving in Voss - if you’ve ever wanted to fly but don’t fancy jumping out of a plane, this is for you! Full gear and teaching included. You’ll be soaring in no time.

What our customers say about the activities

"Beito Resort was everything it was sold as and more. The resort had lots of different activities available, as well as great skiing. Tobogganing, dog sledding, horse riding and more. We had an amazing holiday here.” - Ella Gwynn, Beito Resort

"Lovely laid back resort with plenty of different slopes and activities to explore from husky rides, ice fishing and of course skiing! We went in April and had endless sunshine and blue skies and still lots of snow to ski on!"- Ruth Beesley, Geilo

"Lots of non-ski activities on offer. We have tried ice fishing, airboarding, cross-country skiing, the toboggan run and even had reindeer stew in a teepee under the stars. This was our 4th time visiting as a family." - Andrew Watson, Beito Resort

The best resorts for non-ski activities: GeiloBeito Resort, Voss. For more information, call 01273 224060 to speak to our team or request a quotation online and we’ll be in touch.

Cruise through breathtaking fjords you have to see to believe

As you can hopefully tell by now, skiing is just the start in Norway. You can make your holiday even more memorable by adding a visit to the nearby magnificent fjords.

Flåm is one of the most picturesque places you'll ever visit, set against an enchanting fjord backdrop - perfect for a day trip from Voss or Myrkdalen, riding the aforementioned famous Flåm railway.

The fjords near Flåm (called Nærøyfjord and Aurlandsfjord) are UNESCO World Heritage-listed - and the best way to take them in is from the water itself. Enjoy a tranquil sightseeing cruise along the fjords to Gudvangen, home to the Viking village of Njardarheimr, or crank up the adrenaline with a high-speed guided RIB tour.

For unparalleled views on terra firma, you can either hire snowshoes or head to Stegastein Viewpoint, where you'll find a viewing platform that projects 30 metres out from the mountainside to provide indescribable panoramic views.

What our customers say about the fjords

"A great addition to our usual ski trip, I absolutely loved the amazing landscape of the fjords, our stay in Flåm was wonderful, along with the scenic train journey. Everything about this holiday was amazing, and cannot wait to return." - Graham and Karen Smith, Ski & Fjord Explorer Ski Safari

"Skiing in Voss, visiting the fjords of Flåm and a city break in Bergen. We literally had 3 holidays in one. Thoroughly enjoyable. We had a fantastic time!" - James Porter, Ski & Fjord Explorer Ski Safari

"This was a brilliant experience and a great way to have our first taste of the Norwegian fjords at the end of a 6 day ski holiday. Thoroughly recommended." - Helen Cleland, Ski & Fjord Explorer Ski Safari

From snowy slopes to scenic streets

Flåm isn't the only place you can combine with a ski holiday in Norway. Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Tromsø also provide the best opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture. Each city is geographically convenient for a host of resorts, making for an easy add-on to your ski holiday.

The coastal cities of Oslo (Norway's capital) and Bergen are the two most popular, being at either end of The Bergen Railway (also known as the Oslo to Bergen line).

With its stunning fjord views, rich culture, and compact size, Oslo is the perfect city to explore before or after skiing. Most resorts in Norway can easily be combined with a city stay in Oslo - in most cases you’ll fly into Oslo Airport, just two hours away, so why not break up the journey and enjoy a night or two?

The coastal city of Bergen is renowned for its backdrop of lush forests, fjords and seven rounded peaks. It's perhaps best known for its colourful harbourside, the Bryggen, one of the most photographed areas of the city and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

What our customers say about city stays

"What a beautiful city and great downtime after 4 days skiing, with seamless transfers to/from the ski resort." - Rod Mercer, Bergen

"What a trip! Everything was perfect - we had an amazing holiday - and the Oslo city add-on either side of a fortnight of skiing made the whole experience unique and magical. Oslo must be the coolest city we've ever visited. Everywhere you look there is street sculpture, amazing architecture from the old baroque to strikingly modern, gorgeous, inviting stores." - Sarah Wood, Oslo

"Bergen was beautiful. Took the funicular train up to the top of one of the mountains for a great view - it was stunning. I'm really glad we started our holiday here." - Katie Holmes, Bergen

The best resorts for adding on a city stay: Geilo, Voss, Norefjell. For more information, call 01273 224060 to speak to our team or request a quotation online and we’ll be in touch.

Ski the same slopes as the professionals

Norway holds the record for the most medals in Winter Olympic history, and it’s no coincidence - skiing is woven into the nation’s identity (the sport of skiing was born here for a reason!) The ski resorts are nothing short of world-class, with heaps of snow, expertly groomed slopes, world-class facilities, and epic snow parks.

Voss has nurtured more Winter Olympic athletes than anywhere else in the world, earning 6 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals since 1948. It's a mecca for extreme sports, with skydiving throughout the winter and plenty of freeride competitions.

Norefjell, which boasts Northern Europe's largest vertical drop, hosted the 'Downhill' and 'Giant Slalom' alpine skiing events in the 1952 Winter Olympics due to its elevation and pristine terrain. If it was Olympic standard back in 1952, imagine it now!

In 2029, Narvik will host the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, which is set to be the most spectacular alpine skiing championships ever. Having hosted several top-level alpine sports events throughout history, including the World Cup, European Cup, JR AWSC and national championships, this is a recognition of Norway's world-class facilities and organisational competence.

Various other resorts across Norway have held a wide range of professional skiing events too. Myrkdalen's park often attracts the best, and is where 'Open Klasse' (a large annual freestyle event) takes place, as well as the FIS Freestyle Big Air World Cup in the past.

If you want to ski where the pros do, try skiing the Norwegian way.

What our customers say about the pistes

Great resort! Although at the end of the season, the pistes were groomed expertly.” - Chris Uff, Voss

"Beautifully groomed and very quiet slopes when we went. Everyone was very helpful. Something a bit different to the rest of Europe, which is just what we needed." - Gavin Vaughan, Myrkdalen

"The slopes are meticulously maintained. A truly memorable experience for all." - Pamela Whalley, Geilo

The best resorts for skiing like the pros: Norefjell, Narvik, Myrkdalen, Voss. For more information, call 01273 224060 to speak to our team or request a quotation online and we’ll be in touch.

Learn to ski in the country that invented it

Resorts across Norway are home to wide, unintimidating slopes, exceptional beginner areas, and outstanding English-speaking ski schools. This makes them meccas for novice skiers looking to score their first turns.

What makes it even better is how accessible everything is. Compact resort layouts mean groups with mixed abilities can ski together. You'll often find that blue, red and black slopes all lead down to the same lift - so all-ability groups can take advantage of the all-ability terrain.

Ski lessons aren’t just for beginners. In Norway, instructors cater to all skill levels - and there’s always room to improve, trust me! For expert skiers and those keen to play in the backcountry powder, ski touring is the best way to find pristine pockets of deep, untouched snow.

Plus, Norway is widely credited as the birthplace of modern ski touring - so where better to give it a try? And Norway’s ski heritage doesn’t stop there. As well as shaping the evolution of touring, and of course being the birthplace of the sport of skiing, telemark and cross-country skiing were also born here.

What our customers say about the ski school

"The instructors at the ski school are excellent and highly recommend the private lessons. We have been there 2 years on the trot and love it!" - Crystal Downie, Beito Resort

"We had a private lesson which was phenomenal. The instructor was simply the best and managed to improve my skiing beyond measure in a really short time with focused instruction. We hired him for another private lesson to take my son off piste, and that was exceptional value.” - Sean Dwyer, Myrkdalen

"The ski school was excellent. Well organised, accommodating, and with a dedicated area (and literally 25 metres from the childcare - which was a big hit with our kids!). The instructors were great - kind, patient, and fun." - Megan McIllwain Elliot, Geilo

The best resorts for ski school: Beito Resort, Geilo, Myrkdalen. For more information, call 01273 224060 to speak to our team or request a quotation online and we’ll be in touch.

Watch the Northern Lights dance overhead from the comfort of your bed

Venture into the Arctic Circle and discover Narvik - a winter oasis where snow-draped mountains meet glistening fjords and the Northern Lights dance overhead, painting the star-strewn sky.

The magical Northern Lights in Narvik
Looking out to the incredible Northern Lights from Camp 291 in Narvik

Stay in Narvik's 4* Camp 291 for ski-in ski-out accommodation at the base of the gondola, with floor-to-ceiling windows, a wall-to-wall skylight and a fjord-facing balcony - the best place to spot the magical Aurora Borealis from the comfort of your bed.

Our entire company visited Narvik in April 2025, and we all instantly fell in love. Skiing in the Arctic Circle was a memorable experience, and the views of the Ofotfjord were staggeringly good and quite simply mesmerising. The deep powder and vast off-piste available (in late April - Narvik is incredibly snow-sure!) were only an added bonus. Narvik also offers easy access to the backcountry, which is a true playground for expert skiers. Read Andy Evans' trip report for more.

While its location in the Arctic Circle enhances your chance, Narvik isn't the only resort in Norway where you can spot the Northern Lights - you stand a chance at every resort. If you like the sound of the city add-ons mentioned earlier, why not combine Norefjell (or another resort of your choosing) with Tromsø on our Ski & Northern Lights Ski Safari. Tromsø is a major cultural hub in the Arctic, where you'll also have a high chance of witnessing the Northern Lights. Due to its northerly location, it experiences some of the highest levels of activity on earth.

What our customers say about the northern lights

"Gorgeous sunsets, the sky painted by the Northern Lights and a brilliant base for hiking and dog sledding!" - Olly Bradford, Narvik

"We had the best holiday ever! Wonderful skiing, snowshoeing, husky sledding and then the Northern Lights to finish it!" - Ana Bell, Ski & Fjord Explorer

"The overall trip was great, good skiing for 4 days and then sightseeing in Tromsø, with an evening cruise to experience the Northern lights. A really enjoyable experience." - Ian Robinson, Ski & Fjord Explorer

Warm up in a floating sauna then cool off in a frozen lake

Just steps away from the 4* Gaustablikk Fjellresort in Gausta, you'll find a slightly unusual sauna - floating on a frozen lake, with sweeping views of the majestic Gaustatoppen mountain. Beneath the ice, hidden fans keep a patch of water open year-round, daring the bold to go full Norwegian and plunge from steaming warmth into the breath-stilling waters.

Sauna floating on a frozen lake in Gausta
The sauna that floats on a frozen lake, just steps away from the Gaustablikk Fjellresort

In true Nordic fashion, all of our resorts in Norway have a sauna - and many even include them built directly into your room, cabin or apartment. Admittedly, few can rival the unique charm of Gausta's floating ones!

Some resorts also feature luxurious, state-of-the-art spas, adding an extra layer of relaxation - and the perfect remedy for tired ski legs.

The multi-award-winning 4*+ Norefjell Ski & Spa is hard to beat, having most recently been voted Norway's Best Resort Spa 2024 in the World Spa Awards. Spanning two floors, the spa features hot and cold plunge pools, two saunas, a heated outdoor infinity pool, and two outdoor hot tubs (to name a few!). It's perfect for relaxing after a day on the slopes - if you haven't tried a spa evening on a ski trip, I couldn't recommend it more.

The ever-popular 4*+ Vestlia Resort in Geilo, voted Norway's Best Ski Hotel 2023 and 2024 by the World Ski Awards, also features a luxurious adults-only spa.

Opening its doors for the first time in 2023, the high-end Ridderbadet spa in Beito Resort offers the same indulgence, with unique, rainforest-like decor and an indoor/outdoor pool looking out to views of the Jotunheimen National Park.

These are wellness experiences you don't want to miss out on - see our Ski & Spa Ski Safari for our recommended itinerary combining two stunning ski resorts and two exceptional spa hotels.

In fact, the wide variety of quality accommodation in Norway easily outshines other destinations. Plush furnishings, ski-in ski-out access, first-class service, and an impressive list of facilities - think swimming pools, hot tubs and more - often come as standard.

What our customers say about the accommodation

"Fantastic hotel, excellent food and facilities. The swimming pool was great for families, and the spa was a very relaxing area for adults. Great atmosphere and decor, rooms were a great size for a family of four. Comfy beds and plenty of storage for everyone's ski kit." - Nikki Lawrence, Norefjell Ski & Spa

"Vestlia Resort was absolutely amazing! From the warm, cosy feel and the stunning views on the balconies to the amazing food and relaxing spa. We enjoyed every single moment and would definitely return. The hotel, being situated right at the base of the slopes, was perfect too. We couldn't fault this hotel. A wonderful family resort." - Deborah Armitage, Vestlia Resort

"Clean, quiet, comfortable, modern, with plenty of space. The hotel was perfect for the kids (ski-in ski-out, pool, bowling alley, soft play, and kids buffet). For the adults, the spa was lovely and affordable (not cheap but comparable to London), good food, and there is a reasonable wine selection. All in all, I would really recommend it. We have already booked for next year." - Megan McIllwain Elliot, Vestlia Resort

Take a top-secret tram up through a mountain then ski off-piste back down

Gausta is not only home to a one-of-its-kind sauna - you'll find one of the most remarkable skiing experiences here too. Gaustabanen is a funicular railway that travels inside the heart of Gaustatoppen, the highest mountain in Telemark Norway, to its summit.

Top of Gaustabanen © Gaustabanen
Top of the Gaustabanen funicular on Gaustatoppen © Gaustabanen

You'll first take an electric tram 850 metres horizontally to the mid-station, before switching to a vertical tramway which takes you up 1,040 metres at 39 degrees. The whole journey takes around 15 minutes and is seriously steep at times. There's history to Gaustabanen as well - the radio tower at the peak proved crucial during the Cold War for listening in on Soviet communications. It remained a top secret military base until 2010 when it opened to the public.

Once you reach the top, the view is one of the best sights you'll ever witness. Jaw-dropping, astonishing, mind-blowing. And it's not only breathtaking views and top-secret listening posts at the top - first opened in 1893, Gaustatoppen Turisthytte is a famous spot for waffles, having been built from rock carved out of the summit.

If you're an experienced skier, the best is yet to come - the ski back down! There are no marked or pisted runs, just pure off-piste bliss. Time it right and ski after some fresh snow has fallen, and the powder will be some of the driest around. This memorable descent can take around 45-minutes - taking into account some mandatory stops to take in the mind-boggling view. Some of our team skied Gaustatoppen back in March 2025:

What our customers say about Gausta

"The setup at Gausta is first-rate. The ski shop, ski school and access to the slopes. The skiing is varied and plentiful. Views of Gaustatoppen and the surrounding area are spectacular. Our trip was memorable on so many levels. We cannot be any more grateful for such an experience.” - Paul Radford, Gausta

"A great, friendly resort. Lots of off-piste skiing and a chance to try ski touring. The railway and funicular inside Gaustatoppen mountain is really interesting. Pistes were immaculate and you’re in Norway, so the snow is fantastic.” - Catherine Garrett, Gausta

"Great resort with skiing for all. Really impressed by the service and ability to suit all levels. I had a great time doing off-piste and ski touring as well. The floating sauna is a must too."- Emmanuelle Filsjean, Gausta

Feast on reindeer, trout and sheep’s head from world-class chefs

The food in Norway is much like the overall experience - you probably won't believe how good it is until you try it for yourself! The quality of food is akin to what you would find in a very expensive restaurant here in the UK. I can almost guarantee it will exceed your expectations.

A delicious meal in Geilo © Paul Lockhart
Fine dining comes as standard in Norway - this is a half board evening meal in Geilo! © Paul Lockhart

And I'm not talking about a super expensive restaurant here or there - the food is delicious and high-quality across all resorts, and most of the restaurants are on-site as part of a half board package. A chef in a ski resort hotel restaurant is a sought-after job in Norway, so you can be safe in the knowledge that elite-level chefs will be preparing your food, using high-quality and often local ingredients.

Geilo prides itself on the quality of food it provides - and I can personally confirm that the food at both the aforementioned Vestlia Resort, as well as the 4*+ Dr Holms Hotel, is a real treat for the taste buds. Plus, there's also a fine wine bar in the middle of the slopes. What's not to love?

In Gausta, renowned 'star chefs' serve the finest cuisine at select times throughout the season. These are internationally recognised and award-winning chefs, who've been carefully selected to provide culinary excellence.

Some resorts, such as Norefjell, opt for a buffet-style dinner if that's more your style, while delicately prepared, extensive hot and cold buffet breakfasts are the norm.

Drinks aren't forgotten about either. In Voss, you'll find one of the most famous wine cellars in the world, with over 47,000 bottles. The guided wine tasting is a must-do, or you can opt for a seven-course taster menu with wine pairings.

My top dish recommendations include fillet of reindeer, king crab from the North Cape, trout in Gausta, reindeer heart in Narvik, and for the really adventurous, why not try Voss' local delicacy: sheep's head?

What our customers say about the food

"The Vestlia Resort couldn't have been more perfect. The food was outstanding. Genuinely blown away by the quality that you could expect in a top UK restaurant.” - Edward Keelan, Geilo

Beautiful place! Amazing experience. Food was second to none. The skiing was superb for spring. Empty pistes and very quiet. All staff super friendly. Thank you Ski Safari for a memorable holiday.” - Maria Elena Loxley, Gausta

"The food was absolutely incredible - cannot fault it." - Chloe Tunnicliffe, Geilo

The best resorts for mouth-watering cuisine: Geilo, Gausta, Voss. For more information, call 01273 224060 to speak to our team or request a quotation online and we’ll be in touch.

How much does a Norway ski holiday cost?

A lot less than you might think. View our Norway ski packages & offers to see our prices for our most popular accommodation options and departure dates. 7 nights including accommodation, flights and transfers starts from just £565pp.

In terms of ski extras, a 6-day lift pass costs £229pp and 6-day equipment rental is £116pp on average - in peak season! That's the most expensive that both will be. If you're a senior, youth or travelling in non-peak weeks, you'll pay even less!

Worried about the cost of food and drink? Norway has a reputation for higher prices - but in reality, it’s pretty much on par with most other ski destinations across Europe. It’s certainly not a deal-breaker, and our guests often find that the overall value of their holiday far outweighs the extra pound or two for a beer!

What sets Ski Safari apart?

  • Our knowledge - every member of our team has skied in Norway, we return every year to top up our knowledge, I even lived there for five years and have remained a regular visitor for the last 23. Every recommendation we make is based on our extensive first-hand experience.
  • Our service - since 1996, our core values have stayed the same: we give meaningful advice and deliver a truly personal service that always puts you first. Call us and you can speak to the same person every time.
  • Our value -our strong relationships with suppliers mean that we're often cheaper than you might expect. Tailor-made service doesn't have to come with a hefty price tag.
  • Our happy customers - we're rated 5/5 by our customers on Feefo, and we've been voted the UK’s Best Tour Operator in the Ski Club of Great Britain’s consumer survey seven years in a row, as well as best small ski & winter sports company in the British Travel Awards 2019-2024.
