Skier. I tried snowboarding once many years ago and was shockingly bad.
It’s hard to pick a favourite but it has to be The Utah Ski Safari. The skiing is vast and varied and both Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park are stunning. I have done this trip twice now and it was even better second time around. The Whistler and Vancouver Island combination was also a fantastic trip and I loved the tranquillity and slow pace of Tofino.
Flying over the Matterhorn in a helicopter on a bluebird day and landing at the top of the Rothorn like a VIP. I felt incredibly lucky that morning.
I skied for the first time on a school ski trip and have since been skiing once or twice each winter. Although I’ve been skiing for a long time now, I find that a private lesson is a very good idea each year to boost confidence and banish bad habits.
Myrkdalen, Heavenly and Mammoth.
Tremblant, Whistler and hopefully Oregon and Northern California.
Experiencing the mountain rescue at Kicking Horse first hand was certainly interesting, especially as it was -30ºC that morning. Let’s just say I wasn’t on an extreme run, I wish I could say I was! The ride in the blood wagon was fast, a little scary and slightly embarrassing as we were skiing with our resort host at the time, oops!
Include a city stay to add another experience to your ski holiday. I would highly recommend San Francisco as it’s a fantastic city with so much to see and you can fit a lot into just a couple of days, I have been a number of times and love it there. Las Vegas is also an amazing place and somewhere that everyone should visit, it has to be seen to be believed.
