Skier or snowboarder
Skier. I tried snowboarding once many years ago and was shockingly bad.

Ski/ boarding history
I skied for the first time on a school ski trip and have since been skiing once or twice each winter. Although I’ve been skiing for a long time now, I find that a private lesson is a very good idea each year to boost confidence and banish bad habits.

Favourite Ski Safari
It’s hard to pick a favourite but it has to be The Utah Powder Hunter Ski Safari. The skiing is extremely vast and varied. I have done this trip twice now and it was even better second time around. The Vancouver Island Ski Safari was also a fantastic trip and I loved the tranquillity and slow pace of Tofino.

Best mountain moment
Flying over the Matterhorn in a helicopter on a bluebird day and landing at the top of the Rothorn like a VIP. I felt incredibly lucky that morning.

Next trip
I would absolutely love to experience Japan as I have heard such amazing things from colleagues and customers, and I would like to take my 5-year-old daughter skiing again, perhaps to Geilo or Gausta this time.

Interesting fact
Experiencing the mountain rescue at Kicking Horse first hand was certainly interesting, especially as it was -30ºC that morning. Let’s just say I wasn’t on an extreme run, I wish I could say I was! The ride in the blood wagon was fast, a little scary and slightly embarrassing as we were skiing with our resort host at the time, oops!

Top ski trip recommendation
Include a city stay to add another experience to your ski holiday. I would highly recommend San Francisco as it’s a fantastic city with so much to see, I have been a number of times and love it there. Bergen in Norway is also a very easy option for one night at the start or end of your holiday, especially if you are taking the train to your ski resort, and you can see a lot in one day.
