Both of Canada's biggest ski resorts are fantastic in their own right, while the transfers and quick and easy flight between them showcase the natural beauty of British Columbia, with its vast landscapes, thick forests and frozen lakes.

North America's largest resort, Whistler’s all-ability skiing is spread across two mountains. This is where we first started out and more than 20 years later we still believe it’s the world’s best all-round ski resort. The heli-skiing is phenomenal here, while the town has Canada’s best après bars. There’s also a huge range of non-ski activities, including bobsleighing in the Olympic Park.

East of Whistler, Sun Peaks has the country’s second-largest ski area. The skiing spans three mountains and, down in the Tyrolean-style village, the huge range of après activities includes romantic dining and Cat-Trax groomer rides.

With the flight to Kamloops (the closest airport to Sun Peaks) via Vancouver, you can easily ski the resorts in either order or hire a car and drive to experience BC's beautiful scenery en route.

Suggested itinerary

This sample itinerary is our suggestion for dividing your time between the two resorts. You can easily spend more or less time or even add a city stay in Vancouver.

Day 1

Leave the UK and fly to Kamloops via Vancouver. From Kamloops, it's a 40-minute transfer to Sun Peaks (if you are self-catering, you may want to consider booking a private transfer with a grocery stop on arrival). Check into your accommodation in Sun Peaks.

Days 2 to 5

Ski Sun Peaks for 4 days. Whilst in Sun Peaks why not book on to the Alpine Fondue & Starlight Descent - a fabulous meal followed by a 5 mile groomed run to the Village by moonlight and head torch.

Day 6

Transfer back to Kamloops and then fly back to Vancouver and catch your Whistler transfer along the impressive Sea to Sky Highway, checking into your accommodation in the evening.

Days 7 to 10

Ski for 4 days in Whistler. There are so many different on and off-mountain activities to do in Whistler - from Zip Trek to a day’s ski touring with Extremely Canadian - something for everyone. Eating out in Whistler you are spoilt for choice, from sushi to burgers and everything in between!

Day 11

Check out of your hotel and transfer to Vancouver for your flight home.
