This is an exhilarating powder-packed trip that will not only introduce you to the best stashes in Hokkaido, it will also take your off-piste technique to new levels.

You'll be based in Niseko, and each day you will head out to explore a new area, with lift access and transport provided when you travel to other locations. Your final full day will be yours to do as you choose, and a chance to polish up any new skills you picked up during the week.

During the week, you’ll find plenty of places to lay down fresh tracks as you explore a region that includes Niseko United, Niseko Moiwa, Rusutsu, Kiroro, Sapporo Kokusai, Teine, Tenguyama, Asari Shiribetsu and Mt Yotei. Your guides will continually have one eye on the weather and will consult with you and your group on the best places to visit each day, to ensure you sample the finest powder conditions possible.

Whiteroom’s experienced guides know Hokkaido like the back of their hands. They use their extensive knowledge and accreditation in instructing, patrolling and avalanche safety, to help you discover optimal terrain while learning new skills and important skiing tips.

Suggested itinerary

Day 1 - Niseko Resort Discovery

Once you've arrived in Niseko and collected your rentals, you'll head out with your expert Whiteroom guide, who knows exactly where to find all the fresh, off-piste powder stashes hidden within the resort’s boundaries. Tailored instruction is also provided throughout the day, letting you refine your skills.

Days 2 to 4 - Lift-assisted Backcountry

Explore beyond Niseko's boundaries and access acres of untracked backcountry, utilising the lifts to help you reach it. Your guide will assess the best routes and locations, based on weather and snow conditions. Possible locations include Niseko United, Niseko Moiwa, Rusutsu, Kiroro, Sapporo Kokusai, Teine, Tenguyama, Asari Shiribetsu and Mt Yotei.

Day 5 - Rusutsu Resort Discovery

Travel to the nearby resort or Rusutsu to hunt down new zones with your Whiteroom guide. Lift passes and return transport are included. Much like your Day 1 Niseko Discovery day, you’ll spend your day tracking down hidden powder within the resort’s boundaries.

Day 6 - Free day

After five days of exploring, laying down fresh tracks through fluffy snow, and picking up pro tips to perfect your technique, it's time to put your newly found knowledge to the test. Use this free day as you wish - revisit your favourite locations and any recently discovered powder playgrounds. This is also your departure day, but you'll have late check-out so you can still ski all day, shower and finish packing before your transfer to the airport.
