Utah Ski Holidays

World-class ski resorts, stunning national parks and "The Greatest Snow on Earth®"

Home to 15 diverse ski resorts, 'The Mighty 5®' national parks and "The Greatest Snow on Earth®", Utah ski holidays provide powder and parks aplenty.

There are three main bases that we recommend for skiing in Utah, all within an hour's drive from Salt Lake City International Airport and all providing access to several unique mountains.

Skier is submerged in deep powder in Solitude Mountain Resort

Park City - a historic silver mining town with two ski adjoining areas - Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley. They may be a stone's throw apart, but they're owned by separate companies and so have different lift passes. We recommend choosing one as your main ski area and picking up a day ticket or two for the other.

Cottonwood - a neighbourhood on the edge of Salt Lake City, providing a gateway to 'Big Cottonwood Canyon' (Solitude and Brighton) and 'Little Cottonwood Canyon' (Snowbird and Alta). All four resorts feature on the Ikon Pass, so this location is ideal for maximising your skiing across a number of mountains.

Ogden - a cool mountain town with a historic main street lined with independent restaurants and breweries, Ogden is a short drive away from Powder Mountain (America's biggest ski area) and Snowbasin (America's oldest ski area). Again, despite their proximity, the resorts have separate lift passes so you'll spend most of your time on the slopes of one.

Utah is also home to some of the world's most impressive national parks, Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Zion, known collectively as 'The Mighty 5'. Dotted around the south of the state, these are easy to add on to any of the resorts above for a once-in-a-lifetime road trip. We recommend visiting one or two from the outdoor hubs of Bryce, Moab and Springdale.

Utah Ski Safaris

With so many resorts and national parks to choose from, the best way to ski and see more of Utah is with a multi-destination road trip - aka a ski safari! The only question is... powder or parks?

Powder...

The ultimate bucket list-ticking adventure. Ski six resorts on one lift pass as you hunt for Utah’s fabled “Greatest Snow on Earth®” on our Utah Powder Hunter Ski Safari.

Deer Valley, Snowbasin, Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, Solitude. These are resorts that every serious skier & snowboarder should experience, with a whopping 12,390 acres of varied and challenging terrain between them. Oh, and an average of 500 inches of the lightest, fluffiest snow each season!

You'll stay in the laid-back locals' town of Ogden, skiing America's oldest ski resort, Snowbasin, before driving just over 1 hour south to Cottonwood, the gateway to the resorts of Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons (as well as Deer Valley). All six resorts on this ski safari feature on the Ikon Pass, so you can pick and choose which resorts you ski each day based on the best conditions.

...or Parks?

For the ultimate US ski road trip, our Utah & National Parks Ski Safari is an awe-inspiring itinerary combining the USA’s largest ski area with a road trip through Utah’s stunning national parks.

Spend a week or more in the historic town of Park City, exploring 7,300 acres of tree-lined groomers and off-peak glades. Then the ‘wow factor’ kicks in as you take your pick of Utah’s ‘Mighty 5®’ national parks: Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Zion.

This is one of our original and most popular ski safaris for good reason. Park City Mountain Resort is one of North America's largest ski areas, with 7,300 acres of tree-lined groomers and powder bowls. Best-suited to upper intermediates, it's one of our favourite destinations for glade skiing.

Adding on a road trip to one or more national parks is a brilliant way to combine two holidays in one and see the world-famous scenery out of peak season when the roads and trails are a lot quieter.
