Simply unbelievable - I snowboard and my wife skis, we both loved it. A great variety of terrain combined with great facilities and people, added to what must be some of the most stunning scenery in the world, makes Heavenly a must-go for anyone. To make it even better, it's just an hours drive to some other top class resorts - be sure to visit Northstar, Kirkwood and those more advanced should definitely head over to Squaw Valley. As a package, I find it hard to believe there are many places that can offer what Lake Tahoe does

Our party was made up of two families, 4 adults and 3 girls (16, 14 and 11). Abilty range from just parallel turning to very good intermediate. We had a fantastic 6 days staying at The Ridge, Tahoe (Nevada side)just after Christmas. Stunning views. Easy access to a quiet Stagecoach lift even on busy days so straight up the mountain in the morning. Lovely groomed trails and freedom to roam in and out of the trees meant we could make up runs to suit ability and energy levels yet ski together - fantastic. We didn't ski the runs around the Powder Express as we were told they could get busy. There was plenty to ski elsewhere and we didn't queue for longer than 15 minutes anywhere, most of the time much shorter which we thought was very good considering it was a peak holiday time

Fantastic location just 3 hours from San Francisco. The views from the skiing area are amazing onto the lake and into Nevada - very different. Skiing area could be quite limited compared to larger resorts and the other areas covered by the lift pass are some distance away. The off piste areas were suffering from lack of snow so normally this might not be a problem. The groomed pistes are great for intermediates and wide uncrowded confidence building. The food offering in the village centre is not as wide as some and a car is a requirement.

We had only ever skied in Europe and wanted a longer ski holiday with a happy ski school for our two children. Heavenly is just what it says it is. The ski area is great, from wide, groomed runs and steep mogul fields to, as they say in the USA, some awesome powder off piste. The ski school was fantastic with the children tackling all of the above. We brought snow with us which was great as it's not been a good season so far for snow but they do make their own snow for nearly the whole resort. We loved our time there, and we will be looking to go back again next year for another awesome ski holiday.

Went over Xmas and New Year, unfortunately no snowfall at all. Would not go again to this resort as there were not many restaurants other than the Casinos. Nothing to do although went to cinema in casino one night. Lift pass system not as good as Europe has had to queue up every day to action your pass and then queue up for the Gondola which was they only way up on to the mountain. Unfortunately this Gondola was used by sightseers also and groups of children for the toboggan run. I have 3 children so not complaining at that just pointing out that you are queuing for around 1 hour, then the 25 minute gondola ride to the mountain before you even start on the lifts for skiing. There were also long queues at the end of the day for the gondola to get back down to Heavenly.
