Lots of runs - easily navigable on skis to other areas or frequent bus service.

Åre is clearly excellent. It could do with a few more chairs in Bjornen but we understand that they are subject to the bad weather, so maybe that isn't possible but maybe Poma would solve this. We also used Cafe Idet throughout the entire holiday and their food is to die for. We will be back.

The Swedes are lovely and friendly, organised but laid back. Lift queues worked well and a great family atmosphere.

Åre main resort very good but huge queues on interconnections.

We had variable snow & weather (temperatures from +7 to -14 and snow conditions from icy to spring snow). The town is nice and linking across ski areas is easy. A good range of ski runs, from the top to gentle tree runs. A great resort for families due to the variation. Prices were cheaper than France in most instances!

Consistent slopes and not much queuing to get in lifts. Although signage on the runs could be a lot better. Are Björnen is set up for self catering and families. The ski hire shop gets busy very quickly. There is a little grocery shop which is quite expensive. I did take the ski bus into Are and went to a supermarket there and stocked up. There isn’t too much apres ski available, we went to 2 rest…

Good restaurants in Are By, Bjornen is quiet. Not the toughest skiing other than when icy, but civilised and skiing at tree level rather than above is enjoyable.

The resort was brilliant for us, we stayed at Are Bjornen and there were lots of runs that suited us. The bus transport into Are was reliable and always on time. Everyone was really friendly and the area was pristinely clean.
