Hotel Fjällgården Customer Reviews

Lovely hotel run by an exceptional team - first rate customer service. We stayed in a Deluxe Room which was perfect, even with a sofa and coffee table there was still plenty of room to move around. There are not any tea/coffee making facilities so if you like hot drinks in your room we would recommend you take a travel kettle. Supermarket can be found in centre of town close to Holiday Club hotel. We stayed on a half board basis, the food was lovely however be aware you do not get a choice of evening meal so if you have allergies it's important to advise in advance. The hotel is now cashless which means you can only pay by card, including at the bar. Location best suited for experienced skiers as ski-in is a red run and ski out red/blue however beginners, like we were, can catch the Bergebana Railway down to town centre followe dby a short walk to the bus station to pick up transfer to Rodkullen for ski school. Ski lessons in Dec/Jan end at 3pm which is also the time of the last bus back to Are so don't hang around otherwise you'll have to do what we did and ski down the mountain (which ended in a scary red run!) followed by a 15min walk back in to town. Most of the information about the hotel and surrounding area is in Swedish however reception were always happy to answer our questions.

The food was wonderful and very high quality. Breakfast was lovely, with a great selection. Dinner had a slightly limited selection but was able to have something different each night and they were all delicious but if you are a more fussy eater you may struggle with variety. Didn't eat lunch but was aware there was an alternative lunchtime menu to add to the variety. Great apres ski every day and the band were very entertaining and talented. Lovely atmosphere! And we couldn't hear it from our room when we went for a nap. The room had a fantastic view of the frozen lake. It was very small but had everything you needed. Twin beds pushed together were comfortable but not as good as a double bed. Shower was nice and powerful. Access to the sauna, steam room and outside hot tub was amazing and we used this every day. Again staff here were very friendly and prompt with drinks (bonus). Reception were welcoming and even greeted us at 0300am on arrival to ensure we could get in to the hotel. They helped us book excursions too.
