An excellent resort for families like us. Husband and I had skied before, our girls hadn't. Some more challenging slopes for the better skiers but also great areas for kids. We liked the fact there was a ski bus around to the other side of the mountain for a change of scenery, we took the girls night skiing there as it was mainly green runs. The ski school instructors were great.

Trysil great for novice skiers, good range of blue and green runs that are easy to access. Village small, but plenty going on in our hotel so not really needed. Suspect the nightlife very quiet but ideal for families.

Fantastic little resort for intermediate skiers and families. A little lacking for advanced skiers whilst we were there (20th Dec) due to certain runs not being open yet.

Would recommend this to families/beginners and intermediates. It doesn't have a lot of higher grade stuff but it did have snow! All the Norwegians (and Swedes) were extremely friendly, spoke embarrassingly good English and we were told by our friends that the ski school was excellent. Easter 2014 first time skiing for my son who is now hooked. Ski in ski out, empty slopes and no queues at the chair lifts, fantastic tuition - we changed groups so tried a few, they were all unfailingly positive and encouraging, everyone made great progress. A great location for a family skiing holiday. Our children are 9, 6 and 6. Quiet slopes, courteous and friendly staff, locals and other guests. Good ski school with faultless instructors. We stayed at the Radisson Blu hotel. Excellent location on the nursery slope, fantastic food and a bowling alley and pool to add variety. The rooms were clean and warm and the beds comfortable. This was an excellent resort for a first experience of family skiing. The instructors were great (for both the adults and children) and the pistes were wide and well maintained. Even the lift staff were helpful! There were no queues for any of the lifts. There was an excellent sushi bar and loads of things for the kids to do with Valle the mascot.
