Great resort for young families, kids ski lessons very short (one and half hours not giving lots of time for adult skiing).

Lovely place if plenty snow - nothing to do if unable to ski though.

We liked Trysil. Friendly, good slopes for novice to intermediate skiers, nice, wide and well-groomed. pretty skiing amongst the trees. Radisson Blu was a comfortable, clean and friendly hotel. transfer from the airport 2.5 hours on comfy express bus.

Wide, empty, tree-lined pistes and no long waits at the chairlifts, even during a busy mid term school holiday (February). Fantastic snow. An ideal resort for beginner and intermediate skiers with easy to read piste maps. Excellent resort. Lovely blue and red slopes. There were queues at the bottom of the 2 main chair lifts, but it was half term.

We have just had a great week skiing in Trysil. The snow was wonderful for the first few days so we all found our ski legs easily. The weather sometimes limited where we could ski due to poor visibility up high, but we felt we could ski enough despite this. The only other negative is that lift queues were often too long. Lovely people though, so no aggro from anyone.

Trysil is probably Norway's biggest ski resort, yet it is relatively undiscovered by the larger tour operators. It is a fantastic resort for families, with an excellent English speaking ski-school and a great choice of runs which cater to all abilities. Good choice of places to stop for a coffee/gluwein/bite to eat.
