We will definitely book the exact same Trysil ski week for next year. making it our third consecutive year to the Radisson Blu at Trysil, We had so much faith in our ski holiday we even dragged another family along with us who had a great time, So Thank you Ski Safari. Another aspect of this holiday that made it so lovely was the fantastic ski teachers - their English levels and patience are excellent and they are particularly great with young children. Smiles are the order of the day and it makes such a great start to your skiing.

This is definitely a place to consider if you have never skied before or are a not so confident skier - having said that if you are great skier like my husband (well, he thinks he is, and that is probably all that matters on the black run - self confidence seems to get you to the bottom!) if certainly offers lots of challenges to keep you happy for a week. I have been to the Radisson Blu at Trysil twice now and will be booking again for my third year. I have two young children (5,8) who attend the ski school which is basically a stones through away from the hotel and about as easy as it can be to access. They absolutely loved their wonderful instructors and couldn't get into the classes quickly enough. The instructors had them going up on the chairlift in no time but never did they feel worried or out of their depth. As as adult skier who was only on her second ski holiday (having been basically forced into it by ski-mad husband and pleading children) I can honestly say it is a fantastic place to learn - the slopes are lovely and quiet compared (according to husband) to the Alps, the staff on the lifts are all smiley and helpful and your fellow skiers are superbly in control of themselves and few and far between once you get away from the nursery slopes. The ski/boot hire facilities are really good with all the staff speaking great English and being helpful. There are some nice cafes and outdoor eateries at the foot of the main slopes and then dotted around the mountain. Whilst I wouldn't say that the apes ski is that sophisticated, it is welcome, relaxing and you can get a great lunch and a hot chocolate/mulled wine if you want. Definitely recommend it to those on a family holiday or who are new/nervous skiers.

Just back from Trysil and would really recommend it, particularly to families with really young children learning to ski. Our childen pretty good skiers now so have missed out on the very cute nursery slope facilities this resort offers. However at 11 and 9 they still had a great time. On the first day we did the explore Trysil trip which was great for both getting your bearings and for confidence. It was the 4 of us and one other lady so as well as guiding we were given a bit of tuition which is always beneficial, especially on the 1st day. The instructor was really great with our 9 year old daughter when she became a bit nervous going down the natural half pipe( she wasn't the only nervous one!) so good for confidence in fact that she did it every day thereafter for the rest of the week. My 11 year old said the Intro To Park lesson was the best lesson he has ever had and they both enjoyed the Kids Off Piste lesson. All instructors were charming. Slopes were wide and so quiet and the queues (only on Thurs and Friday of Easter weekend) were a delight. I have never experienced such calm and polite queues! All in all a great family resort.

Just returned for a 3 day 4 night trip to Trysil with an 8 year old beginner skier. We absolutely loved it. The pistes were perfectly groomed and plentiful for all abilities. We stayed to the green runs and only just managed to cover most of them in 3 days. The Radisson Blu hotel was great. The pool area was super, especially when children want a break from skiing. The room and food were faultless, with the Italian restaurant being our favourite! Only downside was the price of drinks, rather expensive to say the least, luckily I'm not a huge drinker!

Just got back from a great holiday in Trysil, with 2 small children (5 & 2 yrs) it was ideal! Our eldest had his 1st week in ski school and absolutely loved it. The instructors were amazing, 'Valles' the resort mascot was a huge hit & all the things around the nursery slopes made it a magical place for the children. Overall, a brilliant place to take very young children on their 1st adventure on skis! We used the 'Barnepass' creche everyday so we could get some skiing done. The only downside was that it didn't open untill 10.45am & by then the lift queues were substantial, but being Norway it was all very polite & laidback, and quietened off over lunchtime!
