Superb resort , accommodation , ski school, everything really. First time skiing for my son and wife who enjoyed it immensely. I hadn't skied for 15 years and this was the best place I have ever been. Very friendly locals, helpful lift operators. Much better than my experiences in Austria. Radisson Blu is an amazing hotel with excellent food, service and facilities. We had a lovely spacious room. Superb all round!

Trysil is a great resort. It has long runs, but not too challenging so everyone can enjoy the feeling of exploring. It has its share of more challenging runs too.. We skied as a family so it was important for us to be able to have variety in the slopes. We also didn't 'outgrow' the mountain in one trip. We only visited 2 out of the 4 base stations there. The resort is run by skistar, and they add nice bits for the children... like the skiing snowman Valle!

Great Ski School and it was certainly (as advised) a great place for a first time family ski holiday. We are a family with 4 kids - ages 14, 12 and 7 yr old twins. All of us are first time skiers. We appreciate good food (and wine) and like to have really nice accommodation/local facilities with options to ensure all the kids are catered as there is a reasonable spread in ages. Trysil does offer more accomplished skiers room to progress, so I think we will visit a few more times before feeling the need for something 'more'. It was unseasonably warm when we visited - so not all slopes were open - enough for our needs, but a more advanced level skier might have been frustrated?? The transfer from Oslo was no hassle (unlike going up the winding mountainous roads of the Alps) and we had no complaints of travel sickness from any of our kids. The ski lifts are well manned - so the kids were assisted wherever it was needed. The slopes were well maintained - although the ski lift opening times did vary from those advertised. It turned out they were open every evening which was a bonus! Great hot chocolate 'sheds' at the bottom of the run. Overall a great resort for a first time family ski holiday - we don't know anything different but we do have a lot of boxes to tick and Trysil managed this!
