Apres Ski was relaxed rather than intense, perfect for younger families. Skiing for beginners or early intermediates was very good and if you fall into these categories, particularly beginners, then stay at this hotel rather than at the main resort. Access to your green and blue slopes in 5 metres, yes 5 metres, from the ski locker door and only 20 metres from the main hotel entrance.......it couldn't be easier! The Ski Hire shop was attached to the locker rooms and so the farthest I walked with my skis in hand was about 10 metres. We had lots of snow, pistes were well prepared and there were virtually no queues except for the last lifts from the bottom of the valley at 4.30pm, when I might have queued for 10mins! If you are an advanced skier looking for excitement and challenge, then there may not be enough for you. If you are a strong intermediate skier then you can probably ski the whole mountain area. For beginners (in our case my wife who is quite risk averse and boys aged 6 and 9 who are not!), it was fantastic and I would certainly recommend it. Finally, we had private lessons which worked perfectly. A Swedish instructor (Jurgen) who it just the right tone with us all and spoke perfect english.

The skiing in Trysil was amazing with fantastic snow conditions, an amazing variety of pistes with very few people and on them considering it was half term. We were still exploring new runs and lifts on our last day. Our side of the resort (Radisson Blu Hotel) had everything we needed in terms of ski hire, ski school, supermarket and cafes etc. There were not as many apres ski or cafes on the mountain as we are used to with France and Austria but this did not deter from our enjoyment at all. We would recommend this resort to families, it was excellent and it felt safe and clean.

This is a fantastic family resort with everything we wanted from a ski holiday, there was enough to keep our interests on and off the slopes, very well run resort, Ski school was excellent, I could not recommend this enough to other families & I already have. We will be heading back to Trysil again as soon as we can.

Small but friendly. I forgot you can't buy wine in the supermarket so it would be helpful to mention that. The snow was excellent. the queues during the February holiday week were very long. This may have been worse than expected because low cloud meant less dispersal across the mountain. The half day instructor was excellent and really boosted my friend's confidence- she had not done black runs before.
