The mountain was excellent well laid out pistes well sign posted and easy to learn your way around, a bit restricted if there is thick cloud above the tree line. Very family friendly but some of the longer T bars could do with replacing with chairs. The main downside was lack of evening entertainment/ choice of restaurant unless you like pizzas and burgers. Even the main town (centrum) has very little and not very convenient to get to anyway. On the plus side I did improve my bowling a little bit not hard as I haven't played for about 20 years.

I have skied for thirty years, however I am not the most confident and for my family and I it was perfect. Trysil was a wonderful resort, easy to navigate, quiet slopes (despite it being half term in UK and Norway), short lift queues, helpful staff and lots of fresh snow each day. Whilst food and drink is expensive (it is Norway after all) the lift passes were much cheaper than other resorts I have skied. Fantastic holiday experience. Enjoyed so much we have decided to go back next year.

Trysil is a great resort but we probably need a larger one, as we'd skied the entire resort by day 4! It was very busy the week of Feb half-term, as the Danes were also on holiday and Trysil is one of their nearest big resorts. I would say that the resort is good for beginners and those moving on to the intermediate stage but was less good for those at the more advanced end of the spectrum. The magic carpet only worked one morning and for lessons you had to use it from the Radisson Blu Resort, so that was a bit annoying.

The resort is absolutely fantastic for our family/group. We have a mix of experienced but not totally confident skiers, through to advanced intermediates with ten years + experience and everyone was catered for. The snow was lovely and the pistes in fantastic groomed condition. I noticed the pistes towards the end of the day were still mostly felt and free from big moguls we see in southern Europe, so those who like to carve will love this resort. The blacks runs are quick but easily doable but oddly enough some of our favourite runs were red and even some greens runs through the trees. There is plenty of choice for refreshments around the mountain and the fun parks are fantastic even with a pair of fifty year old knees. At our very first hot chocolate break after just 1 1/2 hours skiing the whole party agreed we had to come back to Trysil and I would not choose any other provider than Ski Safari.
