The resort combined brilliant skiing with everything covered. There were plenty of easy slopes which we could just enjoy and also harder slopes to challenge us. Our children were just starting to use the snow parks and had lots of fun on these. Most properties were ski in ski out and the hotel was ideal. The ski and boot hire was the easiest we have ever had and the boots were the best fit and most comfortable. The ski instructor was the best too and we all improved massively after the first lesson.

This was the second time we've stayed in Trysil and we love it there. The skiing is relaxed and immensely good fun. It's somewhere you don't need to worry about having a piste map. Every lift has a skiable run back down whether it be up on the open top of the mountain or through the sheltered tree-lined glades lower down. Lift queues really are minimal - even at the busiest times - and always orderly and organised. But best is the opportunity to ski a run from top to bottom and see maybe only another couple of people the whole way down. There's something truly wonderful about that! The tuition is a really high standard and feels personal even when you're in an adult group lesson. Our instructor (Erik Jacobsson) was fantastic and as always, there is absolutely no language barrier in Norway - their English is perfect and when you're trying to perfect your technique, that can be invaluable. The only downside is the very limited après and night life. Even for us who are a bit past such things, we find it quiet in Trysil, especially during the week, but that really is a small price to pay for a little slice of very nearly perfect each season.

What a fantastic resort for family skiing! Our children are 3 and 6 so the wide, empty slopes were perfect for them to learn and practise. Ski school for these ages is only 1 1/2 hours in the morning but this was perfect for them both. The instructors were incredible and both our children cried at the end of the week when we had to leave. It was a short time for us to ski on our own but there are few queues and lots of quick lifts so we could cover a significant amount of mountain in that time. We chose not to use additional childcare facilities as we wanted time to ski as a family too. We are already in the process of booking our holiday here next year!
