Trysil is a curious place. Excellent alpine pistes for all levels of experience, but really poor infrastructure. During the crush of the Scandinavian Spring Break week, the lifts simply couldn’t cope with the pressure of numbers. Button lifts and T-bars are everywhere. A nightmare for boarders and those of us who don’t enjoy long drags.

Fabulous for beginners with lots of east green runs and also for more experienced skiers with tricky blacks - not ideal for lower intermediate skiers as not any blue runs from top.

This was our second visit and I still believe this is one of the best places to ski as a family. Its not huge by European or US standards, but has good variety and easy for children to be in ski school, blast 3 hours on the mountain and be back for lunch time pick up.

Great lift system for a Norweigan resort. Particularly impressed with the single rider queues which made maximum use of the capacity at half term. Good selection of restaurants both in resort and on the mountain. The options for wide blue runs and relatively easy reds was also very good for children progressing from the nursery slopes.

Lots of large quiet slopes. Great to beginners and intermediates. The kids loved the fun park and night skiing was great too. The only downside was the number or t bar and button lifts.

Trysil is a lovely resort. Their ski terrain suits all abilities. We absolutely loved it & will return again & again.

Trysil is a fabulous resort, ski in ski out lodgings, plentiful slopes, awesome snow and really friendly Scandinavians.
