Skiing was great for families. Plenty of long green, blue and red runs and several black ones for the more experienced. None or very little queuing for lifts. Supermarket close by but all food needs were in the hotel. Places to eat on the slopes. Ski school was ok but beginners classes were too basic for the children and they didn't progress much doing only one slope per 1.5 hour lesson. My kids learnt most of skiing from myself.

The resort was ski in ski out and the snow conditions were mostly good considering it was the first week of April. We were impressed with the skiing but found the grading signs for the different pistes difficult to understand. It isn’t signed as well as the European resorts. Also there were other runs which weren’t on the map. The lift queues were quite large the closer it got to Easter but if you used the singles queue a member of staff did get more people onto each chair efficiently. The pomas and chairs were much quieter. The pistes were well prepared and I would recommend this resort, especially for beginners.

Another fabulous holiday in Trysil - just perfect..helped by perfect conditions; snow day one and then clear blue skies and sunshine; no slush, no ice.. just perfect. Trysil remains excellent as a resort for us - lots of variety of runs, good and always improving infrastructure, nice cafes and bars, empty slopes, night skiing on some days and buckets of Scandinavian cool. The Blu mountain resort at 800m also absolutely perfect for ski/out accessibility and facilities enabling us to easily drop in to spend time with a non-skiing family member. All in all this has to be the best skiing/snowboarding resort we have been to; hence this is my 4th visit.
