I have just returned with my family from the holiday you suggested. I must say that before going I was highly sceptical (after looking at the piste map and seeing as how there was just one hotel and two chairlifts in the entire of the place). This is such a hidden gem. The snow quality was excellent late into the year, and it is very affordable. The mountain, even though it does not have a high elevation, has a lot of vertical and it is easy to get over 20,000 vertical feet in the day. The staff, rooms and food were all of excellent quality. I want to return very soon.

Great ski school, perfect pistes. Some issues with power cuts affecting skiing for long periods.

The resort was good for our family of inexperienced skiers; the ski school was enjoyed by our three children - excellent friendly instruction with humour and the kids ended up doing red runs by end of week having never skied before. The snow was great; more than 3 metres on upper slopes and no slush given the low temperatures. Together with friendly hotel this was a great place to get family skiin…

For our children's first ski holiday, this was the perfect destination. The hotel is literally at the bottom of the piste, the ski school is just yards away from the door. We had excellent snow. It's not too busy, queues are short, and everyone is helpful. We enjoyed it very much

The resort is outstanding for families - great skiing, well maintained slopes, brilliant instructors and good behaviour on the slopes - especially important when you are with little ones. I also liked the fact that queuing was minimal!

For a short break Myrkdalen was fantastic. We loved the empty pistes (during the week), the friendliness of everyone, and the fact there was plenty of snow! My daughter loved ski school and would love to return to Myrkdalen.
