Small resort with great off piste skiing. Limited night life.

lovely resort. Would return. the only strange thing we found was that the mountain doesn't open until 9am and it closes ridiculously early at 3.30pm with 4 hours of daylight left... that was weird.

Good skiing for our ability and convenient ski in - out. Not ideal for rowdy 20 year olds but perfect for us with a 12 year old. It was expensive but we knew that anyway.

Lovely wide runs, only two chairlifts but plenty of skiing for an older person. I could have done with more serious boots and I preferred the Volkl skis I had at Christmas. There is an amusing bumps run which I got onto by mistake and I laughed like mad but was told by a Norwegian gentleman I am an excellent skier. This sort of thing did not exist in my day.
I think this is a fairly quiet resor…

Myrkdalen Hotel was a modern efficiently run place at the foot of the pistes with very nice food. It was a little impersonal but had good ski facilities.

As it is a small, compact resort with the hotel at the bottom of the chairlift it was perfect for us and our son.

Easy to get to...2 hour drive from Bergen Airport. No queues at the lifts, ample skiing.
