I'm an experienced skier with little off-piste experience and found this mountain a perfect weekend retreat for me. It's an astonishingly beautiful landscape and an unpretentious resort that lets you get right down to the skiing business, which suited me perfectly. I'd recommend this for serious skiers who want a lot of variety and challenge over the course of the day. There's so much to explore and the snow cover & depth is outstanding -- and I heard from some locals that this wasn't even a particularly good winter for snowfall! The powder was up to the knee in some places, so I can't imagine the fun I'd have in an above-average winter. Not recommended for novices, though. The unsettled weather, which can sometimes create low visibility situations in off-piste terrain, demands a certain stamina. And whilst there are bunny slopes, they're not the most well-loved parts of the mountain.

Myrkdalen, as described by Ski Safari, is indeed a gem waiting to be discovered! It is remote with only the mountains for company, so ideal for those who are there to ski and entertain themselves of an evening in the hotel. Some would say bliss! Long wide slopes for all levels and no queues. The slopes are very well groomed - clearly it's part of their pride and joy. Would definitely return and do an add-on (as suggested by Ski Safari) for a couple of days to experience the scenic wonderland of nearby places and experiences.

Ski in and out was a huge benefit to be so accessible to the pistes. Skiing was enjoyable and the piste were never too busy and challenging for beginner to intermediate level skiers. A special mention goes to the ski instructors especially, Jill, who was very patient, knowledgeable and with their guidance and encouragement helped the students improve. Also like to mention and thank Lena for all her support and positive attitude.
