We really liked this resort as it was the first time our 2 children had skied (aged 11 and 13) and we wanted convenience. The Myrkdalen hotel was 1 minute walk from the ski hire shop, ski school meeting point and the slopes. The resort had a large nursery slope which was ideal for learning. Perfect for families with young children. The hotel was very clean, staff friendly and set in a beautiful setting. The food in all 3 restaurants was amazing. The kids did ski school and had so much fun.
It was the perfect venue for our first family ski trip.

Excellent resort with a wide variety of quiet pistes. The range of pistes means it is particularly suited to families which have mixed skiing abilities.

Myrkdalen is great for a family skiing holiday for skiers with varied levels of experience. The slopes offer rewarding skiing for all with fantastic snow conditions. The resort is centred around the Myrkdalen Hotel, which is a modern well run holiday hotel. Everything is within easy walking distance; ski hire; ski school and a small selection of shops. Despite being a small resort aimed at beginners and intermediates, I found plenty to enjoy especially with the easy access plentiful off-piste areas. We wanted to combine a few days skiing with a trip to the fjords and the Flam railway. This resort worked out perfectly, we enjoyed empty slopes in late January and the hotel was excellent.

The ski resort itself was great with the chairlift literally yards from the door. There's also plenty terrain for some off piste on powder day. There is a couple of nice cafe bars too. All in all we had a lovely week and will be back.

Nice resort for families or those wishing to stay in the hotel but perhaps not the best if you like to wander round or want a bit more choice of restaurant.

The resort was exactly what we wanted. We could focus just on skiing for the week. The ski school was excellent and provided almost one to three lessons every day. Some days our son had one to one lessons! The staff at the ski school were knowledgeable and helpful. The resort was clean and well run. Overall a very good first experience of a ski holiday.
