A winter wonderland for Christmas! So beautiful and of course just piles and piles of white sparkly snow.

Great family resort good for beginners / intermediate. Not all runs were open when we travelled and the more advanced skiers / boarders in the party felt they had done all the runs by the end of our trip, but friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and good snow conditions.

Perfect for a 1st family ski trip. We all loved the gentle runs on the Vestila side of the resort, the ski school was excellent and the pistes were uncrowded.

Lovely & quiet, small resort, great for children & learning, lots of cross country skiing available too.

Vestlia is superb for beginners and early intermediates. All the slopes come down to the same base and so it is easy for a family to split up to do runs that suit their ability and then meet up again at the base. I'm a nervous skier but this is by far the best resort I have skied at and I felt safe and very comfortable with the layout.

Last week of Easter Hols, snowed every day, pistes to ourselves. Train trip from Oslo was incredible. Instructors were excellent with the children with much smaller groups than in the Alps. Lessons were shorter but had more impact. This was my 5 year old's second week of skiing and was on the chair lift by day 3. Lovely people. Completely fell in love with Norway. Will be going back.

We had the most amazing holiday in Geilo, staying at the Vestlia Resort. The hotel is perfect! Right next to the ski school, ski rental and lifts. The food was absolutely incredible- cannot fault it. The rooms were spacious and clean. Plenty of storage for all of our ski clothing.

Very nice resort. Hotel was top notch - more below. Skiing was pleasant. Great conditions, not crowded, stunning scenery. However if you are anything above a beginner you will soon run out of runs. As long as you think of this as a relaxing ski break for a few days vs your annual "get as much elevation as I can" then you will enjoy it. Geilo is the perfect resort for beginners. The slopes offered the right challengers for anyone new to skiing to progress each day without being busy.
