Fantastic resort and easy to navigate, easy for all abilities.

Great family friendly resort

The resort had everything we could want for a family ski holiday - small but fun selection of pistes, great ski school, handy supermarkets (with a good selection of gluten free food), family fun for the evenings with swimming and bowling. A long drive from the airport but it was an easy and beautiful drive.

Lovely area on the Vestlia side, quiet and so close to the slopes. The hotel facilities nearby were a bonus, but outside of ski bus hours it's an expensive taxi ride getting over to the main town for a wider choice of restaurants or bars.

Great resort and facilities. The ski areas are on opposite sides of the town, requiring a bus.

Fabulous family resort with young children - great food, loads of activities, wonderful ski school!

Perfect for a family holiday with a child new to skiing. Great slopes and many options for a beginner. Lift operators very helpful. Truly ski-in ski-out and very accessible. Split resort across 2 areas very easy to access with frequent dependable pleasant free bus. Ski instructor was excellent, one of the best we have had - very kind, understood the family, able to cater for all levels and needs.

Geilo was an excellent resort for a family such as ours who have only skied once before. It was easy to get to and to get your head around the resort and piste map, there was absolutely loads of snow, and most importantly of it there was a relaxed, welcome and kind atmosphere to the whole resort.

Geilo is a great destination for cross country skiing with over 450km of prepared trail, enough local shops for self catering with bakeries and sports shops too. Mountain huts not open and trails not all prepared prior to school February holidays, so beware if booking to go early February.

Llike all Norwegian resorts, quite small but plenty to keep you busy for a few days.
