Fab holiday, empty slopes and great instructors. We loved that we were on the sunny side of the valley and Slaatta and its staff were great. Geilo was great for skiing. The town was pretty quiet though with very few eateries. The ski bus is over complicated and unreliable but we worked it out in the end. We walked back from Slaatta quite a few times.

Really nice resort, with town centre a shuttle bus ride away and a choice of two main ski areas. Great for beginners/improvers as well as the more advanced.

We have been to Geilo 3 times now. It’s very quiet, which suits us. No queues. The Norwegians are polite and friendly. Yes it’s expensive to eat and drink but we bought our meals from the supermarket. And a top tip is to buy a wine box at duty free.

Geilo town is not particularly picturesque, quite functional but looked much better at dusk with the Christmas lights on!

Hotel Vestlia was excellent. Staff, food location perfect. Our hotel room 5211 looked directly onto the bottom of the ski slope so was excellent view.

Perfect for families and beginners /intermediate skiers. Lots of ski runs and also other activities to keep us busy. Very friendly and helpful staff in the hotel. Ski instructors were excellent and great with the kids. Food was of a good standard.

Excellent for beginners skiing, nursery slopes separate from main ski area. No queues for lifts, easy and safe for children.
