Nice resort for families where a winter holiday is more important than hardcore skiing all day.

Geilo was perfect for our requirements - helping friends gain confidence on their second week on snow. Geilo has 2 hills. The easier hill had easy access from our lovely hotel, the Vestlia, which was ski in ski out. The regular ski bus took about 5 minutes to the centre of town, and 10 minutes to the other hill. Good location to help get your ski legs back if you haven't skied for a while. Also plenty of cross country routes if you want to have a break from the slopes and the crowds, although for our stay the resort was visually empty of skiers. Resort is clean and an ideal location for skiing from the hotel straight on to the lifts and mountain. Everything was easily located and all the staff were friend…

It was perfect for our group. Small enough to be able to meet up with people in the day but big enough to keep the better skiers occupied. Liked the night ski options too.

Great for families. The nursery slope has everything you expect and more. The resort was so quiet, which was amazing. It felt like we had the slopes to ourselves sometimes. It is also perfect for beginners and intermediate skiers/snowboarders, but there is very little for advanced skiers/snowboarders.

Great resort for all round skiing. Probably not for the thrill seeker; but great for beginners and competent skiers.
