The Geilo resort was excellent again. The proximity of the accommodation to the slopes is perfect and because we took a late holiday this year the slopes were very quiet so plenty of time was spent skiing and not queuing. Arrangements for ski hire and ski school worked very well. The Geilo resort is ideal for families and skiing beginners. A bus service allows you to get around the resort and the small town has adequate supermarkets for all you catering needs. Overall a fantastic resort.

This is the second time we’ve been to Geilo and we would definitely return again. If you like wide, empty slopes and excellent snow beautifully pisted then you will love Geilo. If you are an expert skier wanting big challenges then maybe not. But this is brilliant for families, intermediates and beginners or for those of us who would rather have the slopes to themselves with no queues rather than the frantic pace of most European destinations. Great quality rental equipment- far superior to what we’ve had elsewhere and really helpful and relaxed staff happy to accommodate your needs. Great self catering accommodation about 75 yards from the lifts. The downside is the Norwegian cost of living but we managed this well by self catering and being able to pop back to the cabin to have lunch rather than eat on the slopes.

We went to Geilo the week before the Easter hols - really quiet slopes, great instructors, and good variety of slopes including a junior and full ski park - I think we've probably got another trip in us before we've exhausted the slopes and novelty, and if you're looking for nightlife and or 100s of kms of pistes like in France Trois Vallees etc, then this is not for you, but otherwise, if you enjoy having the pistes to yourselves, and a clean friendly atmosphere, you can't do better!
