Geilo and the Vestlia Resort Hotel proved to be superb for our holiday. Skiing was excellent except for the wind closing the resort on one of the days. We were a group of 3 couples and on the half board rate, I must admit the prospect of a fixed dinner menu was not great but the food was excellent and a real treat. Helen from Ski Safari did us really proud by fitting in skiing between a weekend in…

Comfy, clean and super family friendly without losing a little feel of luxury. Staff helpful and professional and facilities including room, pool, play room were excellent. Ski Hire were friendly and helpful and Ski school great as well. We’ll definitely be heading back!

Excellent resort for both beginners and intermediates, although very limited if both lifts and T bar are shut.

Many of the ski instructors seemed to be new and inexperienced and lessons were a bit disorganised, but other than that, we had a lovely time skiing in Norway.

A great resort for families and beginners starting out with lots of gentle greens and relatively empty longer blues through the trees.

Good resort, facilities great, people friendly and snow was fab. Isn't massive though and hence easy to ski all the runs within a few days, great for beginners, not as great for experts with only a couple of black runs.

An absolute must for younger families. Accommodation, facilities, lesson structures and meal times are highly family orientated. Norway has a reputation for being expensive and, while this is true, the on-mountain cafes and ski equipment are no more than you'd find in an average resort in the French Alps. It's cheaper than Switzerland!

We thought Geilo was magical; the views from the mountains was beautiful, especially in the morning light. We were essentially beginner skiers, so the ski school instruction and the range of slopes was ideal. Snow-cover was perfect. We chose to try-out mushing with proper racing huskies during our stay. This was only half a mile or so from the hotel, and was a highlight.
