A very special family ski holiday. Flew into Bergen and then took the scenic train to Geilo. Spectacular scenery on the way. Arrived at Vestlia resort. Impressed with the property and facilities. Stayed in a 1 bed suite with accommodated our family easily. Very clean and warm. Breakfast and dinner excellent with a buffet for children and 3 course set menu for adults. Hotel has a nice pool, water slide and on site bowling alley. A proper ski in/ski out destination. Good quality equipment available for hire and really friendly and professional ski school. Plenty of snow. We had an afternoon husky sledding which I strongly recommend. Also worth trying cross country skiing. Would definitely visit again - planning 2023 already!

Perfect destination for families with young children who have yet to ski / ski'd a limited amount. Ski network is a little limited for more experienced skiers.

Is a great resort for beginners and intermediates. Lots of nice wide blue runs to improve your turns on. Great snow park with jumps and rails and fun slalom course which timed you, great for family ski competitions! We skied at February half term, the only negative was it was a bit windy on a couple of days so that the chair lifts had to close for a few hours but the snow was great, the slopes were never overcrowded and there were no lift queues. I would definitely recommend this resort.

It's a lovely resort with a good range of slopes. Perfect for beginner and intermediate standard skiing. There is 1 steeper run in Vestlia, but a short ski-bus ride to the other side of Geilo provides some lovely reds and blacks. The runs are shorter than many of the larger resorts in the Alps but they are also quieter. I skied 2 reds and a black in quick succession and had the slopes to myself - in February half term! We also tried dog-sledding which was excellent! Definitely recommended. It did get quite windy on a couple of days and this shut the chair lifts which confined everyone to either the T-bar or the green button lift. Temperature is fairly cold, but thermals, 1 mid layer, ski jacket and buff was sufficient (late February).
