The Green Leaf offers true door step skiing with a great rental facility onsite. The onsen is just brilliant and we did end up making use of there onsite physio also! The rooms were simple but warm and comfortable. The breakfast plentiful and catered for everyone. We ate a few times at the hotel in the evening, initially it seemed quite expensive but once we were a little more accustomed to the buffet we realised that constant helpings of sashimi and wagyu beef probably made it reasonable. We have already talked about returning to ski at Niseko and we would again stay at the Green Leaf.

Very comfortable, with real ski-in and ski-out amenities. There is a free (heated) ski locker for each room, with plenty of space for your skis, boots and poles. Head down in the morning, pick up your ski stuff and then out of the back door of the hotel. It is all of 15-20 metres to walk to get on the gondola which takes you up the slope. Hotel Dining – breakfast is a buffet, with both Eastern and Western options available – we particularly liked the French toast. Transfer to Town – there are two different shuttle buses which run from the hotel to the main area of Hirafu – both leave the hotel at roughly the same time – the Green Leaf shuttle from outside the front door, and the Niseko United shuttle from the car park (about 80 metre walk) – we found it better to use the Niseko United bus, as there is a stop right in the centre of town. Onsen – do try the Onsen at the Green Leaf – fantastic after a day on the slope – we found them to be very quiet whenever we used them – first morning we were in there at 04:00 due to jet lag! There are separate male and female pools and the hotel provides robes and towels.

Green Leaf hotel was a good choice in relation to easy access to the nearby lift link system. The room was very clean and tidy. The hotel is well maintained, breakfast is plentiful and the dining area is accommodating. The staff are attentive and make your stay very welcome. I wished the evening meal had more of a variety of food though the cook your own hot pot with meats and vegetables was still very tasty and fun. The evening bar food was good too though we only had it for one night which was a burger this was delicious. The specious lounge had plenty of seats for relaxing and a built in enclosed flamed fire to give it that warm look. The onsen (hot bath area) was a real treat to have after a long day. To have an indoor and outdoor one was exceptional. As this hotel is not in the main resort of Hifaru, a bus system operates this link. This has a slight downside as the buses which operate the ski resort of Niseko only run on the hour and the last bus from Hifaru is at 9.35pm. There is a hotel bus but this doesn't run after 9pm. If you do stay in town for late drinks and dinner prepare to book a taxi in advance I would not recommend the hour walk back.
