Excellent resort with some great places to eat, some very good and friendly hire shops and some great terrain for snowboarding! When the conditions aren't great-windy you really cannot get out onto the mountain as it isn't pleasant, but when the storms roll out, they often leave some brilliant snow to utilize. Although it offers plenty of available pistes, it's not a huge European style area. This isn't normally an issue at all, but when there are lift closures or great Snow conditions, the best available areas can get very concentrated. Night riding is a definite highlight as the groomed pistes are nice and crisp, and provide a magical feel to the flowing pistes.

Niseko was quiet. The hotel was excellent, particularly the onsen which we used every day. The free bus service was easily accessible and gave instructions in English and Japanese. The skis provided by Rhythm were of an excellent quality. The ski areas are all linked and provide a variety of terrain. However, some of the lifts are rather antiquated and in need of an upgrade. Unfortunately for us the mountain was closed for two days because of 65 kph winds and white outs - this was followed by two days of 45 kph winds, which we skied. It is a busy resort and some of the runs were crowded. Nevertheless, we had a good time on the mountain.

Fabulous snow. Good choice of equipment at the accommodation. Guiding highly recommended. Skiing very safe and it was a joy to be skiing with respectful, courteous, safety conscious fellow skiers and boarders. No fear of out of control kami kaze testosterone fuelled young men barrelling into you!!
