Resort had lots of good shops and restaurants. The shuttle bus was handy but we like to be able to go for a walk straight from the hotel.

We skied in Niseko Central (unguided), Rusutzu, Moiwa, Kiroro, Annupuri, Furano, Kamui & Asahidake (guided). All resorts were different and generally excellent for a day's skiing (or more with a guide) but would have been limited without a guide. Having the guides brought the resorts to life and enabled us to ski off-piste all day, explore the backcountry and experience Japanese tree skiing for …

We didn't spend much time in Niseko Village, however Grand Hirafu was pretty cool. Fab bars and restaurants .The slopes were wonderful as well. Good lifts and reasonable access to the pistes. Ski school was fun.

Streets are v clean. Excellent selection of bars, restaurants & shops. Lift system needs an up-date (although I'm basing that on personal experience of some of the major European resorts which have spent millions of Euros on upgrading theirs in recent years). Resort is fairly small when compared to some European resorts but it has a good selection of different grade runs. Some of the areas are not particularly signposted very clearly but there is some great skiing to be had.

Niseko-Cho village is the middle resort of three, linked at the top of the mountain and at the base by a bus. Total ski area is not huge by some standards and the lifts are very old fashioned. However, the snow is fantastic. They get a lot, so cloudy, snowy days are the norm. Sun is rare, but great views if you get some. Grand Hirafu next door is bigger and more lively, and Annapuri has more wide …

Facilities were great - lovely little village with lots of restaurants, supermarkets and shops for last minute gear. Fascinated by the heated roads, what a great idea!

Extensive resort with good facilities and plenty of night skiing. Would recommend always booking eating out especially in busy periods. Gondola got VERY busy at the end of the stay. If you do end up at another part of the mountain and lifts get closed (as they did to us on 2 occasions) its a long trek back on a bus and they are not very regular.
