4* Winery Hotel & Condominium Hitohana

A very smart boutique hotel, with a relaxed atmosphere and very comfortable rooms. The indoor onsen, although not a natural one, is very pleasant. The extensive Japanese and western buffet breakfast always had a large well-prepared selection, and the food in the hotel's restaurant was very good and reasonably-priced. The hotel ferried guests by mini-bus to and from the ski area each day, and there was free use of a coffee machine in the lounge area, as well as the usual provision of a kettle, tea and coffee in the room. While I would not necessarily agree with Ski Safari's assessment of there being a good choice of bars and restaurants within a few minutes' walk, it is only a 20-25-minute walk from the Winery to some very good and reasonably-priced restaurants in Furano. The walk was certainly a viable alternative to the evening bus which entailed a 10-minute walk to the bus stop and a wait of 5-10 minutes for it to arrive - and less restricting on time.
