Contemporary in style, the Flåmsbrygga Hotel (pronounced Floms Brigger) is small and intimate. It offers great personal service and a cosy home-from-home feel. Made from Norwegian timbers blended with stone, glass and driftwood it has a modern feel, but very much using traditional building materials from the past.
The rooms offer an intimate and cosy feel without compromising on space. Most rooms have balconies overlooking the fjord and valley, while the corner rooms have two balconies for panoramic views.
For anyone who enjoys craft beer, the Flåmsbrygga’s brewery (Ægir Brygerri/BrewPub) is a must-visit when in Flåm. The Ægir BrewPub, located next door to the hotel, is housed in a characterful building taking you back in time to the era of longships and the Viking Age. For dinner, try the "Viking plank" five-course platter, each dish paired with a different beer. It's a great way to immerse yourself in the culture and heritage of the area.
As ever with Flåm, the compact centre means wherever you choose to stay you are in a prime location to try all the different activities, whether it be the Flåm Railway, Fjord cruise, snowshoe hike or, of course, beer tasting. All under the watchful eye of your host Ægir (pronounced Air Gear). Known in Norse mythology as master of the seas, brewer of the best beer and host of elaborate parties to the gods.
