First visit to the combined Whistler & Blackcomb mountains . Literally skied in and skied out of the Marriott accommodation which was both comfortable and spacious . Extremely friendly , helpful staff and very high standards of hygiene and breakfast choice.Would absolutely recommend the resort for all standards of skier with Blackcomb offering the more challenging slopes and the Peak to Peak trip as an eye opening experience. Throw in a day trip to Vancouver and you have everything a ski holiday should be.

Visited 4th March to 15th March 2009. Skied in brilliant blue skies for 90% of the visit.Good base of snow really helped,metre dump week before we arrived, then how lucky can you get,sun and more sun. But with pleasure there is pain, minus 22 degrees centigrade on one day and minus high teens on others was a real challenge, correct gear is a must. The two mountains meet at the bottom, which is a great feature,choose either Blackcomb or Whistler, both are great. Easy greens everywhere, top to bottom, challenging blues, that can flatter and catch you out. Plenty of blacks to tackle if so inclined. Throughout our stay the snow quality was superb,I skied where I wanted, only the odd patch of ice. Restaurants of all types,burgers and ribs, and quality international cuisine. Great little cinema. Transfers only 2-2.5 hours. I love skiing in Europe, but hate the crowds, even on Saturday Whistler was okay, the odd bottle neck at the popular chairs, but rarely more than a few minutes. Peak To Peak gondola, not for the faint hearted, a great thrill, felt very safe, but made my blood pump. We will be back!

Excellent resort, excellent skiing. Ideal for families as there is so much else to do besides skiing and everywhere child friendly. Far more laid back, friendly and well organised compared to most European ski resorts. Accommodation far superior as well. We stayed in Whistler Creekside rather than the village - a lot quieter but only a 5 minute bus ride from the village. Will be returning again next year.

A dynamic and vibrant resort. The friendliness and calm efficiency of all resort staff from the ski-pass zappers, to the mountain staff, to the Guest Relations people, and those in hire shops is quite outstanding - other resorts could learn a lot. The Ski School is excellent. One reads that the resort is busy and 'commercialised' but we did not find it so - one can avoid the busy and noisy places in the village and enjoy them presumably if that is what is wanted. This year even the Intrawest sales people were easily avoided and they are the only people who in the past have been pushy. There are some excellent restaurants - Araxi, RimRock, apres are particularly good. It is easy to self-cater - the supermarkets are good and the Liquor Stores stock a fair selection of wines. Again, the staff are helpful and friendly. There may have been less snow this year (2008-9) than previous years, but the pistes were kept beautifully groomed and there are just so many runs and such a variety.

We love Whistler so much we got married there! It has, perhaps, some of the most fantastic scenery, skiing, apres ski, restaurants and non-skiing activities of any ski resort, any where. True, it can be very busy, especially on the slopes, in the "line-ups" and when looking for a restaurant place in the evening and it is quite expensive. That said, it has been four years since our last visit and it was much less busy than we were anticipating, pre-Olympics lull, credit crunch, who knows? Three top tips when visiting Whistler: ski down to the village once, then use the gondola (the lower snow is rubbish!); try to take the weekend off (at least Saturday); have a go at the Zip-Trekking, it's fantastic - perhaps on a Saturday!
