Huge variety of skiing terrain, all areas easily accessible from Creekside; despite Whistler's reputation for cloud, wind and rain it was usually possible to find good weather somewhere. Lots of powder and vast 'off-piste' options within the ski boundary. We travelled in late March/early April and had large snowfalls 50+cm across a week. The Ski Esprit part of ski-school is an enjoyable and sociable way to combine ski guiding with some teaching. Creekside is lovely and quiet but just a 5 minute bus ride from Whistler; with older teens we might prefer to be in Whistler itself. Teen ski school only operates out of Whistler village; we benefit from an unscheduled 'Adventure week' with the same instructor which was worth having. We plan to return!

We came back from Canada on Monday 30th March 2008. Skiing is fantastic at Whister/Blackcomb, particularly with the new Peak to Peak. We don't like doing the same runs all week and didn't have to here. There is plenty to keep you going and we skied for 9 days. It snowed for most of the time we were there, but we did get three beautiful sunny days. Avoid the double blacks if you don't like moguls, as they don't piste them at all. Having been to the States before and not being impressed, I can definitely say that we will go back to Whistler, as they do actually groom the piste, which we found was lacking in the States. The Pan Pacific at Whistler Village is excellent. We don't like hotels particularly, but we had a two bedroomed apartment here and breakfast was also included. This was the best of both worlds and the apartment was fantastic with all the mod cons you would wish for, including a dishwasher etc. The hotel staff could not do enough for you and were really helpful with whatever you needed. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Our skis were sent over to Pan Pacific Mountainside and were lockered there, so we just needed to take our boots with us every morning and walk over, which took about 5 mins and wasn't any stress, (locker room way too hot though!) then pick your gondola, either Blackcomb or Whistler, which are both just outside the rear entrance. Literally ski in/out. The only waiting we did was on the Saturday (Spring Break). Otherwise we hardy even had to wait at all. Recommend using the ski guide on your first day, which you can pick up at "the Rendezvous" on the mountain. They will take you for about 2 hours and show you the mountain and had good tips for how to get down if the weather came in (which is does really quickly). They are free and if you give them a tip, this goes to the mountain rescue dogs, so this was money well spent... never know when you will need one! Just need to save up the funds to go again! Europe just won't be the same with their grotty chalets...
