I was slightly apprehensive about staying at the Fairmont as my hopes were so high. But I needn't have worried - the hotel is excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and even though it is a large hotel it never felt impersonal. Our early booking offer was a room upgrade and the Deluxe Slopeside room was lovely - we had a view over the outdoor pool and Blackcomb mountain and the room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. It is certainly a ski in/ski out hotel. A very short walk up the steps to the bottom of the Wizard chair in the morning and then I just handed my skis to the ski hosts at the bottom of the slope at the end of the day - perfect. The only negative was that we travelled (unknowingly) in Spring break from the middle of our holiday so the pool did get noisy with children in it. But I'm not sure the hotel could do much about that (apart from possibly have child free times in the pool/hot-tub). If you do stay here then I would suggest joining the Fairmont Presidents Club before you go as this gives you complimentary Wi-Fi during your stay. Otherwise you only get 1 day complimentary and then have to pay.

The fairmont was exceptional- I know it's pricey but you def receive amazing service. We were upgraded upon arrival & as the hotel was quiet when we arrived all the staff got to know us so when the Christmas rush happened we were still treated like special guests,lovey touches like champagne & chocolates on arrival with a note congratulating us- just one of the many things above and beyond that made us so glad we were staying there. Thanks for the recommendation about the portibello deli downstairs, Brian & his team were fab & the food was reasonable & great! Even the ski valet team were great, had good fun with them every day advising us about good runs & where was good to go for après. A totally amazing experience. We were treated like guests not just people, staff used our names & went that extra mile at every given opportunity to make our honeymoon an extra special stay. The quality of service & standards was exceptional.

I cannot recommend the Fairmont Chateau Whistler highly enough. Four times we have stayed there now for winter skiing trips, and four times we have been impressed with the overall experience. With one or two exceptions, the FCW team are head and shoulders above when it comes to professionalism and willingness to help, combining courtesy with friendliness. The facilities are superb, and you really do feel like a privileged guest when you stay there.
