Lovely resort with a genuine mining town. The snow was excellent with a wide variety of runs. The winter carnival was fun with great fireworks.

Plenty of lovely restaurants to suit all different pockets. Not an awful lot in the way of 'nik nak' shops if that's your thing!!

A characterful resort located in two areas - ski base and town but serviced by frequent and efficient shuttle busses. The walk from the hotel (Grand) to the gondola was a good warm up and there were enough restaurants to dine out in for a month. Lots of shops to explore and there seemed to be many other activities on offer if you wanted a day off from skiing. Lift queues were either non existent…

very short queues, nice selection of runs, amazing powder - only complaint is that the town does not have a lot ot offer in terms of fine dining, though Cafe Diva was great!

A very friendly resort with a real cowboy feel to it. There were sufficient blue trails for us to get our ski legs back, but enough black runs for better skiers. Easy access to the Gondola Square departure area from surrounding accommodation areas, with excellent shuttle bus services.

Visited in December 2016 and I would recommend Steamboat as a USA destination with terrain to suit all abilities. Great snow conditions, uncrowded pistes, efficient shuttle system from hotel to slopes, free transit buses to/from Steamboat town. Good selection of places to eat and drink.

Great Western ski town. Such a friendly place with a great ski hill, lots of variety and very snow sure. Go in the guided tour (free) and there is also a free ski clinic with olympic medallists! Food is excellent: Steamboat BBQ good, good mexican at Vaqueros, and the best is the Laundry- but you must book. Real authentic Western experience and will be brilliant in the winter.

Steamboat is a fantastic ski resort. The Steamboat Grand was an excellent choice for location, comfort and friendly service. Amazing skiing. Would highly recommend this resort.

The best ski holiday ever! It only gets better, so much so we have been looking to purchase a condo out in steamboat, for summers and winter holidays - just love steamboat!!!

Steamboat still seems to offer that truly American hospitality that's disappearing in many towns/cities. Maybe it's because everyone seems so genuinely happy(?). Honestly I've never met such a happy bunch of people. No fake smiles here. The resort base is compact but together with those on the mountain, it has all the bars and restaurants you could need. Having a proper town nearby is a great bonu…
