We had an experience and holiday of a life time. It was all that James said it would be. Ski Safari certainly know how to do it. Thank you. We are already thinking about Jackson Hole and Big Sky! USA Utah and Las Vegas: Awesome. Absolutely brilliant holiday and experience. Skiing fantastic. Bryce Canyon and Zion...what an experience. Scenery wonderful. Vegas...what can one say...certainly won't forget it. USA Park City: Fantastic. We skied 6 out of the 7 resorts. Wonderful experience.

Excellent!! We loved all the resorts we visited (Park City, Canyons, Snowbird, Brighton, Powder Mountain). We found the pre-booked lift passes restrictive though, as we had 10 days in which to use a 7 day pass for Canyons, and 7 days to use 3 day pass for Park City. Would have been better to have the whole 14 days available in which to use both passes. We liked the Super Passes, and would have preferred more of these. Now we are more familiar with the area, we would want to arrange lift passes differently to allow us to move more freely between the resorts during our stay.

This has to be one of the best places in the world to ski. The snow is usually superb, the variety of terrain is excellent and the facilities good. We took a private lesson for 2 hours, which completely transformed my wife's skiing (& told me accurately what I was doing wrong!). I used to think the best lessons were at Panorama in Canada but Park City has proved me wrong. The other great advantage of Park City is the free but complex bus service which allows use of Deer Valley and The Canyons as well. (I am not a great fan of The Canyons as there are large numbers of rather narrow trails. There is a good deal of advanced skiing available but it is well separated from the groomed runs and therefore not conducive to mixed ability.) Deer Valley (voted No 1 in North America by Ski Magazine for 4 years if the publicity is to be believed) is a very smart resort. The attitude of the staff is superb and the skiing varied and fun. Anyone who thinks it is a bit tame - and some do - needs to try Grizzly or Daly's or Mayflower. And there are no snowboarders! It is a pity that skiing back from Deer Valley to Park City is not allowed ($500 fine), as there are parallel runs a few yards apart. Apart from that, it is an excellent combination and I would rather ski there than anywhere else with the possible exception of Snowbird. Park City itself, if you have the time and energy, is an entertaining town. We were rightly advised to avoid The Sundance Film Festival, when accommodation prices rocket and the whole place becomes mayhem, according to the taxi drivers anyway. We skied for 13 days and were never bored. Go to Deer Valley at the weekends as it is less busy. The new lift at Park City has improved access to some of the better terrain. Self catering is a good option as there is a very satisfactory supermarket near the most commonly-used accommodation. Utah claims to have the best snow in the world and I have no reason to doubt them. The journey from the UK is long but the flexibility and variety of skiing will not disappoint.

Park City has preserved mine buildings up on the mountain with and old lodging house now being used as the mid mountain restaurant. The condominiums at the foot of the slopes echo the mining architecture to give an authentic feel of the old west. All lifts (except Jupiter) serve lots of runs so that there are never crowds and everyone can find a run to suit their ability. The Home run backbone of the resort allows runs to base from all but two of the lifts. Snow and slope management are of the highest quality making this one of the very best resorts in America.

We really enjoyed our stay at Park City. Location is great - just 45 mins from SLC, 3 ski areas within 5 mins drive and another 4 an hour away. I'd heartily recommend a car so you can experience the different ski resorts. Park City itself has a wide range of restaurants and bars - and there's a free bus service so you can enjoy some beer. The service is top notch, no queues and friendly lift operators etc. We stopped here as part of the Utah ski safari - fabulous! Don't forget to do a spot of shopping at the Tanger outlets by the highway. Park City ski resort is good fun, quite a nice mix of runs and easy to work your way around the resort.
