Along with Alpine Meadows which is linked by the base to base gondola, this is a lovely ski area. It caters for the powder hounds and easy groomers very well between both resorts. However - very busy at weekends.

Easy access to the slopes and a couple of good restaurants. Also skied Alpine Meadows. Preferred these slopes, but that is personal choice.

Nice compact village with an abundance of runs. Pairing up with Alpine Meadows gave it a great deal of variety.

Loved this resort. Fab runs for all abilities, even though it was a ‘busy’ time (over Christmas) it did not feel busy compared to what we are used to in Feb half term in Europe. We had an instructor for most of the week so jumped all the queue lines. But they were not too bad at any time. Alpine Meadows was very nice. Not so keen on Squaw as there is relatively little groomed skiing and if the weather is bad, off piste skiing in an area you don't know in poor visibility isn't much fun! Wanderlust yoga in the resort village is excellent. Alibi brewery and bar in Truckee is brilliant!

The village itself was very quaint but rather small and did not have the capacity to manage the number of visitors. Most restaurants/bars were closed by 9pm. The resort seemed set up for car driving day visitors.

Squaw offers good skiing, Alpine is smaller, less commercialised & great for a few days.

A great base to ski the North Tahoe resorts of Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and Northstar. In the main, the two latter resorts are great for a day for intermediate skiers - the former spend a couple of days there to do all the runs. Alpine needs some investment in the lifts but they got you up

Squaw was quite busy as we were there through a holiday period for the USA but there were free shuttles to Alpine Meadows and Northstar was also an short drive away, both of which were just as good for skiing but slightly quieter.
