Timberline Lodge Customer Reviews

Steeped in history we were always going to stay at Timberline lodge on our visit to Oregon. It's a 5 mile zig zag drive up Mt Hood to get to the Lodge & we were lucky enough to have a bluebird day on arrival & the setting & scenery were breathtaking. They have a little museum that details the how & why it was built which is interesting & it's really quite quirky with its little nooks & crannies. The staff were all friendly & helpful. The rooms were a little small but comfortable. It does make old building noises at night - construction finished in 1938 so by American standards is pretty ancient! It has lots of good communal areas with big wood fireplaces & the best views when you go for your complementary morning coffee. The only thing I would mark the place down on was the food, breakfast aside, wasn't a great selection & was in my opinion over priced, guess you are a captive audience though unless you fancy the drive down & back up
