The Timberline Lodge was dedicated by Franklin Rosevelt in 1937 and is a classic ski lodge of its time.

It retains plenty of heritage features, yet has been cleverly brought up to date. Rooms are on the small side, as you'd expect of a property of this age, but are beautifully finished and furnished. As the focal point of Timberline resort, the Lodge gets a good number of day visitors who stop in to revel in the property's history. In the evening only guests remain to enjoy the unique setting and the atmosphere created by the vast fireplace that is the centre-piece of the Lodge.

The outdoor pool and hot tub area has been newly revamped and renovated in 2024. Whether it's morning lengths in the heated pool or après soaks in the jetted hot tub, Timberline Lodge has you covered.

Steeped in history we were always going to stay at Timberline lodge on our visit to Oregon. It's a 5 mile zig zag drive up Mt Hood to get to the Lodge & we were lucky enough to have a bluebird day on arrival & the setting & scenery were breathtaking. A hotel built during the depression with Federal money to provide employment for the local artisans.The public areas had lovely log fires. The ski runs covered one side of the mountain, the upper lifts servicing steeper tree-less ski runs. The lower slopes were trials through the trees. Really good skiing on the upper slopes but exposed to a cold wind,24F! The outdoor swimming pool and hot tub
