A high altitude resort with glacier skiing, Saas Fee has snow-sure slopes, even late season. It's a great resort for families and first timers to Switzerland.

Easy-going terrain and panoramic scenery make Saas Fee a stunning place to ski, while the car-free resort is a favourite with families.

High altitude and snow-sure, this relatively small resort has a dramatic backdrop of tumbling glaciers and 4000-metre peaks. Known as the ‘Pearl of the Alps,’ sitting outside for a hot chocolate break feels extra special here.

Beginners and improvers have easy blues and not-too-challenging reds, while nervous skiers can feel at ease on the unintimidating terrain. If you’re eager for more, catch a bus to neighbouring Saas-Almagell and Saas-Grund, which can be included on your Saas Fee ski pass.

The picturesque village has charming timber buildings and narrow streets with cafés, boutiques and cosy bars. Better value than many Swiss resorts, Saas Fee ski holidays have an unpretentious vibe.

With plenty of off-slope facilities and family-friendly attractions, we love the welcoming buzz here. Sledging, skating and torch-lit trails are among the après activities and, as it’s a car-free zone, so you’ll be transferred to and from your hotel in an electric vehicle.

Every holiday is tailor-made, just for you.

The village is very picturesque and quiet. We loved the mountain scenery and tranquillity. Everything from the ski hire to the ski lessons for our sons was very efficient. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Very, very quiet in April.... Great!

Excellent resort for families. We were there late in the season, quiet but good snow conditions. Being small it is easy to get about and it's good for non-skiers with cable cars to access most of the slopes.

The ski season is now just weeks away! While a handful of resorts are already offering limited glacier skiing, most will be fully open by the end of November. Two weeks ago we took a look at the first snowfall photos across the USA, now the rest of the world is catching up. Most notably, Whistler...
