Saas Fee Ski Holidays

A high altitude resort with glacier skiing, Saas Fee has snow-sure slopes, even late season. It's a great resort for families and first timers to Switzerland.

Plenty of easy-going terrain and panoramic scenery make this a stunning place to ski, while the car-free resort is a favourite with families.

High altitude and snow-sure, this relatively small resort has a dramatic backdrop of tumbling glaciers and 4000-metre peaks. Known as the ‘Pearl of the Alps,’ sitting outside for a hot chocolate break feels extra special here.

Beginners and improvers love the easy blues and not-too-challenging reds, while nervous skiers feel at ease in the unintimidating ski area. If you’re eager for more terrain, catch a bus to neighbouring Saas-Almagell and Saas-Grund, which are also included on your Saas Fee ski pass.

Better value than many Swiss resorts, Saas Fee ski holidays have an unpretentious vibe. Open year-round for skiing on the glacier, the picturesque village has charming timber buildings, narrow streets and traditional wooden barns. A car-free zone, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in an electric vehicle, and can wander safely between the cafés, boutiques and cosy bars.

With plenty of off-slope facilities and family-friendly attractions, we love the welcoming buzz in Saas Fee. Sledging, skating and torch-lit trails are among the range of après activities, and simply strolling around the town is appealing in itself.

Very, very quiet in April.... Great!

Excellent resort for families. We were there late in the season, quiet but good snow conditions. Being small it is easy to get about and it's good for non-skiers with cable cars to access most of the slopes.

Thank you for your advice and assistance with our holiday last week. We had a very good time and all the arrangements were ideal for our needs. The ski school was excellent and the boys enjoyed the classes so much that James attended 4 days and Henry all 5. As non-skiers Jane and I found that Saas Fee worked very well with the degree of access that we had via the various cable cars and the Alpin metro – we met the boys for lunch at Morenia several days and treated ourselves to lunch in the revolving restaurant at Allalin as well. James was impressed that he could ski back from Allalin virtually to the hotel door!
