With a super short transfer from the nearest airport, Stöten is a small family friendly resort with a good range of green, blue and red runs. If blacks are your thing it my get a bit repetitive. We had great snow conditions with some fresh snow almost everyday, but not enough to disrupt skiing. We had great ski instruction with the same instructor being allocated everyday which ensured we could just continue where we left off the previous day. Queues for lifts were reasonable, but not as short as Geilo in Norway. The advantage of instruction is that you can skip the queues. Do book to do the fondue before you leave home - it's really fun. The supermarket is super expensive and only sells beer - no wine.

Fantastic family focused resort with a good variety of pistes within easy reach of the nursery slopes. Not the resort for you if you want to ski black runs all day though! The lounge bar at the base of the Vargy express lift is a great base, especially for those with little kids (at lunch time there were grandparents with sleeping tots on several the sofas, really chill and cozy place). Ski school were brilliant with our two older kids, both their first week on snow. And to top it off, a super easy travel experience!

A very Swedish resort (don't expect English translations on signs) with ski-school predominantly in Swedish, that depends on two express chairlifts to keep the lift queues down although these do close when wind speeds increase. At peak periods (e.g. Swedish half-term) the closure of these chair-lifts can result in 15-30min queues for the remaining T-bar/button lifts which still provide access to the majority of the runs with some running to 6pm. Weather conditions during Feb half-term were mixed; first and last days suffered from periods of rain but a couple of inches of powder mid-week meant there was no shortage of snow albeit a little icy in patches. Runs are relaxing rather than demanding but great for novice skiers and middle-aged parents who'd rather enjoy a glass of wine than hurtle down a black run. Apres ski options include small swimming pool / jacuzzi / sauna a short walk from the Ski Hotel (not included in package), bowling (needs to be booked well in advance) and a kids game zone (table tennis, pool, table football, indoor hockey, etc) for those that can be separated from their phones. Note that resort is completely cash-free - everything done via card. Verdict - Great resort for a short break but check the weather first.
