Åre was the perfect family resort. Lovely wide pistes for the children to hone their skills, and wonderfully quiet (it was before Swedish holidays). As it had been so cold, the snow was still in great condition in early April, with blue skies and sunshine most days we were there. Fantastic ski instructors, for the first time ever, all the children were happy to go off to ski school every day. …

There is a decent variety of skiing for all levels, not quite as extensive as some areas in France/Italy/Europe however not as busy and when we went in February the snow conditions were far better. There is a lot on offer in the resort generally, the restaurants are excellent, some lovely shops, great cafes and the beautiful frozen river to walk along.

A great resort with all levels of skiing including cross country. When it was windy quite a bit was closed and a few too many drag lifts (for those not used to them) but nonetheless plenty to do.

Lovely hotel although the description is misleading as to get to a blue run which is manageable is near impossible. The food was excellent if you were a carnivore but absolutely disgraceful if you were a vegetarian. we made are feeling known to the staff and management but it didn't improve. Finally the lift adjacent to the hotel was closed for two and a half days which meant a steep red run or a …

Are is very charming with cosy bars and restaurants. Our kids have 'grown up' skiing here but I think we have all outgrown the skiing. The lift system is too reliant on over-served T-bars with a real need for more fast chairs. The runs are fun but short. It's a great choice for the novice or relaxed skier that also looks forward to authentic hospitality.

Are/ Bjornnen was nice. Good variety of runs, plenty to occupy skiiers of all abilities for a week. Nice range of F&B options on the mountain and very fairly priced. We would return.

The Åre resort had plenty to keep us entertained for a week. We were lucky with plenty of snow even at Christmas, and the top section of the resort accessible by gondola was just beginning to open at the end of our week. Not enough snow at Christmas for off piste - that would need to wait until a bit later - but there's plenty of potential if you hit lucky with the conditions. Beautiful views over…

Ski path down from the hotel was difficult due to lack of snow also high winds on two days resulted in some lifts being closed. Slopes in Bjornen were, however, good and largely uncrowded.
