We have just returned from our second holiday in Are Bjornen. It is an ideal resort for families. Both holidays have been in the first week of Easter; there was more than enough snow on the slopes, but the roads were clear, which made driving very convenient. We had brilliant sunshine both years. Our light and airy apartment was a five minute walk to the slopes, so extremely convenient; our children loved skiing down to ski school. The instructors were outstanding; extremely personable, fabulous with children and with impeccable English. Even the lift operators were smiley and friendly and remembered us from last year. We enjoyed the restaurants and cafes very much, but also the communal barbecue in the picnic area at the bottom of the slopes. Tannforsen waterfall was beautiful; the swimming pool at the holiday club was great fun. It was a low key holiday, but very easy and really enjoyable.

We have been lucky enough to visit Are 6 times now. We have been with the kids and now on our own. I always feel totally relaxed and safe here. The Swedes are wonderful people who all seem to speak wonderful English. Everything is of a very high standard from the preparation of the piste and the quality of the food to the high standard of accommodation. It can be very cold and it can be very windy, but you take a chance with the weather wherever you go. If you're a big wine drinker be aware it is very expensive - £30/£40 a bottle of decent wine at the table. Beer is not so bad at £5/£6 for a decent bottled beer.

Are is a very special place. Incredible little ski town and the Easter weekend was a great time to go because the spring conditions were good, sun was out and there were so many end of season parties (best one was at the TOTT which we were staying at which was also amazing). I was a bit worried about the drive from Trondheim when we landed, but you were exactly right, it is super easy and a very nice drive.

I will complete the questionnaire gladly. I must also go a step further and congratulate you and your team for suggesting and organising the holiday. The whole experience was fantastic. Given we have skied all over the world, this was one of the best trips we have been on. The flights were excellent, the taxi was great, the ski hire and hotel was excellent (Tott Hotel).
