Having skied regularly in the Alps the quietness of the slopes and lift lines was much appreciated! It also felt a very safe resort for my beginner children. The ski lessons for them exceeded our hopes - they both really enjoyed skiing and made amazing progress. As absolute beginners they were happily skiing across the resort by Wednesday and down red runs on Thursday. The recommendations about ti…

We've had many years experience here. Ideal for quiet, wide pistes. Well mannered skiers and staff in shops and eating places. Some superb restaurants. Alcohol is expensive!

A very pretty place, and skiing till late in the season. The Hotel we stayed in was run very efficiently, tasty food, and a great band for the apres ski crowd (apres ski from 4ish till 6.30, so early!). The Hotel was lovely, but for non-skiers would not suffice. Nevertheless, we had a lovely break and met some lovely locals, who went out of their way to show us the area.

We found the car hire really useful, especially for excursions. Highly recommend Sweden, great for kids, and felt very safe and no queuing! We loved it!

Well run resort, quite a lot of drag & T bar lifts but queues not too bad in spite of it being Easter week. We expected it to be very cold but it wasn't at all. Skiing not as challenging as mainland Europe, but we did not expect it to be. We went snowmobiling on the frozen lake, which I would recommend. Food & alcohol not too pricey in the town supermarket & off licence.

Are Bjornen is a lovely area to take children and beginners. The runs have a nice progression, the resort staff are very helpful and the restaurants are child friendly.

The Copperhill Mountain Lodge is a very good hotel but unfortunately we chose the same week as Southern Sweden's sports week. The hotel was heaving with the well to do from Stockholm and their children. One local called them "brats"( his words not mine!) and they were left to run amok around the hotel, it was therefore very difficult to find a quiet space to read or relax after a day's skiing. The…

Excellent for families. The kids ski school was great and my 6 year old loved it. My younger son loved all the snow playground areas. It was a lovely size with the right amount of facilities. Åre town was beautiful and a lovely day trip.

Brilliant scenery. Great skiing for all the family and for all abilities. The town is small but good to visit for half a day
