As a regular visitor to Canada we were a bit nervous about changing tactics and choosing Norway as our next ski fix. Well, we shouldn't have been..Trysil was a great resort, easy to get to, Skistar Lodge was in a magical position mid-mountain but with a great bus service if you wished to get around to all the other areas for dining in the evening. Everyone was super friendly and we felt the res…

Brilliant place for all level of skiers and snowboards and the snow conditions were great (we went beginning of Feb). Everyone in Trysil was super friendly and there's a really nice atmosphere both in the village and the hotel we stayed in. We're looking to book again with Ski Safari for next year!

Trysil, is a beautiful resort. Smaller than the alps equivalent but quieter, the tree lined runs are great and the runs from the top of the mountain are plenty long enough.

We were based in the Hoyfjellssenteret part of the resort, several km away from the main base area (Turistsenteret). This was great because it was much quieter with very short queues (we frequently had a chair to ourselves) and gave easy access to most of the Red runs in the resort. On the one day that we ventured down to the Turistsenteret, the queues were 10-15 minutes! This meant that, on powde…

Lovely friendly laid back resort. Clearly very popular with families with slopes to suit all abilities.

Family friendly, snow sure and with a good variety of slopes and terrain. Only downside was the large number of t-bars and button lifts as opposed to chair lifts.

As a ski resort Trysil is quite small, but there is still lots to do and the snow is amazing. It was very cold one day (-25) and the chair lifts closed, but you could still get around on the button and t-bar lifts. There are a few nice cafes on the mountains and bars in town - we like Skipuben best.

We love Trysil and this was our 3rd time skiing here. Trysil is small enough to feel personal with minimal queues for the lifts, but large enough to not have to repeat runs every day. Brilliant learner slopes, a great choice of long blues and red, and some scary blacks if that's your thing. Already looking forward to coming back.

Trysil has beautiful, wide, tree lined blue, red and green runs at mid mountain with a cluster of blacks too. There are also great red and blue runs at the top- fantastic to ski with little to no wind!
Extensive nursery and learning areas as well as purpose made jumps and rails.
Lots to ski for all abilities with floodlit skiing too.
Spectacular views.

This resort has almost everything, excellent slopes of all standards and variety to ski a diffent location every day. The village is a pleasant walk away if one fancies a break from the slopes. Here you can shop locally produced items or just take a coffee in small cosy shops and cafes. What doesn't the resort have? Hoards of would be anti social skiers tearing down the slopes trying to prove they…
